Hello, I recently moved to a lower priced area and make really good money however I owe about $50K in School and credit card debt's, Whats the best way to consolidate all loans with out hurting my credit?

I know how both work but which one is worst for your credit? I would think settlement would be worse becuase you're not paying the full amount...while in a debt consldiotion you are. ALso. In debt conslitiaton, is there a pre payment penalty? Meaning...can I pay MORE than the agreed upon monthly payment. (I might win the lotto soon, example)

Ok, so here is my issue. I have 8 credit cards. 4 are the regular (visa/MC) and 4 our store cards (gap/jcrew.) I am a total of roughly $8,000 in debt. My problem is that I have a hard time making minimum payments on 8 cards. I need to get them all onto one card, or consolidate them as best as possible. last june/july I was unemployed so I missed a couple of payments and really screwed up everything. I am still over my limit on a few of the cards because of it. So now that my credit score is tarnished, I can't get another card with a high enough limit to transfer all of them onto.

Hi, I really need to get rid of my debt (don't we all!) Anyway, I was just about to sign up with a company before my boyfriend said to me that I don't want to sign up with a place that is going to settle with my creditors, for it will look bad on my credit. He said I want a place that is going to pay all my balances in full, and then I pay them back. Can you tell me how I find out companies that will pay my balances in full, or any other insight about this issue? I am just really confused now about what to do!

Well, now the company realizes that the breach affected 1.4 million people in all of its stores. These thieves obtained critical information. This information included: credit card numbers, driver's license numbers, and bank account numbers.
