I have been hounding them like crazy and can't get an answer. I overpaid on the loan (they are claiming I owe more, typical story). I sent them many emails and letters. Complaints with AG, FTC, and BBB. No response from them. I am doing the right thing by doing this? Should I just leave it alone?

Hi sorry if this is in the wrong place. I was just recently contacted by a collection agency stating I owe $650 for an old bellsouth account that closed in 2006. The account was opened in 1999. I was 12 when the account was opened and 18 when the account closed. The account was not mine but my parents. Few questions. If I was under the age of 18 when the account was opened can I still be legally responsible for it if I was 18 when it closed.

Hello..I received a court summons not to appear but to respond in order to have a chance to appear and defend. It is a collection attorneys office called gurstel chargo and siding on behalf of capital one. I don't deny owing capital one 1000.00 but am being sued for 1542. Which I am sure is because of fees and interest. I was trying to save up to do a settlement offer but am being sued before I could. It has been less than a year since I stopped paying capital one. After reading in these forums I responded to the summons and sent a debt validation letter to gurstel chargo.

Hello I only have one loan and it is from plain green for 800.00 and to date I have paid 1050.00 on it. This is my second time borrowing from them. My first was 600.00 that I paid 1250. for when I paid it off. On my new loan the payment has been 255.00 a month and hurting my finances a lot. I am so thankful for finding this forum and realizing I could help myself. So far I have sent 3 emails to plain green with the wording given in this forum. My bank did stop payment for me on anything coming in from plain green and I have filed complaints.

I filed chap 13 in Jan 2011. At the time, I was not interested in paying attention to anything I was signing. But now that I am considering starting a new business entity, and applying for a provisional patent this week - my bankruptcy has become a concern of mine. In reading over the court papers, noticed a form my attorney filled out that said if I didn't make 'x' amount of money annually (in CA), than I was not to be put on a 5-year plan but instead a 3-year plan.

Is the SOL from the date the original creditor closed the account or the date the from which it was purchased by another lender and put into collection.

I have 3 payday loans out one from integrity payday loans for 600, one from cash yes for 300 and another one from NOU HourAdvance Scottsdale, AZ 85251 for 400. I have more than paid the principals for these loans and now they want more. I live in California any advice on what I should do/.
