Ok so I have never needed to ask a question on here but I think I'm in trouble now. I took out a payday installment loan ( in Illinois) for $1,500 last year. I only made 2 payments and then it went to collections. I got a letter in the mail 1 week ago stating that they are suing me. I have to go to court on July 19th and the total with attorney fees is about $2,500. I have contacted them and they are willing to set up a payment plan without this going to court. 6 payments of $414, with at least 2 of those payments before July 19th.

I live in NJ and received Superior Court lawsuit paperwork today stating that Citibank is suing me in Civil Court for credit card debt. Jaffe & Asher are the attorneys for Citibank. Will they allow me to arrange a settlement payment plan out of court?

just wanted to know if Town & Country Acceptance Corporation located in Birmingham, AL is another "payday loan company" . . . out of the blue I get a postcard stating: MONEY PROBLEMS? c all 1.800.297.3809 - FREE CALL NOW! GUARANTEED HELP I've been caught in this payday loan loop since February and it's now June and I don't see a way out . . . anyone have any suggestions for someone in the state of ILLINOIS? thanks

I stopped paying on a credit card over 4 years ago because the interested was more than the monthly payment. My actual debt on the card was about 2500 but after all of the fee's it went up to about 4500. Originally what happened was the credit card company changed by due date from the 28th of the month to the 22nd of the month without notifying me. I paid on the 27th of the month like I always did and they jacked up my interested rate to 29.9%. I called and they told me that they mailed out a letter and I had to respond to the letter in order to keep the same due date.

i received a letter from a law firm in ga. (legitimate (oxymoron) law firm) claiming a debt of around 2000 usd. i sent email denying debt and they responded with a default judgement in ny from 2007. the default was in favor of midland.... but no details. i have not lived or worked in the usa since 1999 and have no open debts. i am responding to the lawyer letter denying debt but what do i do about the default.... are there any punitive actions i can take as whatever midland represented to the ny courts must be forged as there has been no communication with me about a court appearance.
