I live in Louisiana. I am so confused about the laws. I have been searching and reading and even contacted Commission Braud's office. I have quite a few online, internet payday loans. My husband was hospitalized 3 times this past year and we have over $100,000 in medical debt. Also during this past year my daughter and son-in-law found out their baby had a birth defect and would not live past birth. He was born and lived one hour. During her pregnancy, the bill collectors were calling her, my other daughter, both of their in-laws, etc.

Due to loss of income I leaned a little to much on payday loans and credit cards. I have been able to payoff about 1/3 of it as I have been able to work out a deal with the credit companies. However,the payday loans have been a nightmare for me. First of all they kept trying to take money out of my checking account after I have informed them to cease. The bank would "not" close my account,they said it would be fraudulent. Yet my account went 1300.00 in the hole after the bank decided,they better close it.

does anyone know if loan shop, intergity advance, american web loan & fast and reliable are licensed to do pdl's in the state of tn? also, what should i do with my store front loans?

I'm 50 and we all know at work that layoffs are around the corner. Unemployment will not cover all my living expenses and I will risk losing my home. I've been in my house for 20 years. My ex and I refinanced a few times during our marriage extending the length of the loan. 12 years ago we filed bankruptcy & divorced shortly after. I got the house and have struggled to make the payments ever since - $835 per month. Several times, due to lack of child-support and job loss, I've had to do a loan modification to avoid foreclosure.

I have spoken to a lawyer regarding chapter 7. I am not scared that with my husband income wil be too much. All debt is in my name. PD loans, personal loans, credit cards and medical bills plus IRS payments. All in my name including a car loan which I want to keep and of course the IRS. We file seperate taxes. Now both of us split living expenses. He does not help me with my bills. Nothing and he pays his own. If he does not help me with my bills and all living expenses are split will this help my case even if he makes too much? Thank you

I get phone calls all day, every day from these jerks. They don't answer. They supposedly are a debt collection agency. I am not delinquent in any bills, and never have been. I'm thinking of getting an attorney to assist me in getting these people to quit calling. Is there anything else I can do.

If I participate in DMP, do I have to close out all my credit cards? Will they no longer be available to use for emergencies?

So I received the same email from two of the PDL companies that I still owe principle to. I had sent them an email revoking their ACH auth and closed my account about a month ago.

Can you sue this company for fraudulent charges to your acount? I agreed to pay my debt through them and I found a completely different charge on my card that I did not make. I only use this card for e-commerce and this charge came same time as Allied posted my debt payment. Could they have passed my card info to a thrid party?
