Debt Collection after PDL Settlement

13 years 1 month ago
In November 2010 I got a $500 loan from Elastic (Urban Trust Bank). I was unable to repay and ended up agreeing with them to settle for $354.75. I have email solicitations from them regarding this as well as a PIF email and I believe I have a written letter as well (I just haven't had the time time to dig it up). Today I got a call from M. Callahan & Associates stating that a civil compliant had been filed against me and referencing an affadavit number. I called back and they told me I owe $709.50. I told them I had a PIF and sent them the email documentation I had.

Mypaydayloan.com

I just found out that Mypaydayloan.com is an illegal PDL company I believe located in Costa Rica. I have paid them 985.00 on an original loan that was 400..500 with interest and then 145.00 added on because i was able to reborrow. I had no clue they were illegal. I have my bank statements and proof that I have paid them almost a thousand dollars. They are harassing me by cellphone ..now my job and by email.Saying I owe them $808. I am not sending them another dime and I closed my bank account. How do I get them to stop harassing me. I have filed complaints with BBB...FTC and IC3.

Garnishments

Will a garnishment be shown in the docket entries of most courts ? In other words, if your bank account has been frozen, will this show on court documents Is it necessary for the creditor to receive approval from the court to garnish one's bank account ?

Kentucky laws

13 years 1 month ago
I live in Kentucky and have two payday loans I recieved over the internet from Utah I believe. I have being paying on them for a very long time now, the money automatically comes out of my account. I am at a point now where I am going to lose my car because I can't make payments due to all of this money coming out of my account. I am thinking of closing my checking account. At that point, what laws do I fall under regarding this debt, Kentucky or Utah? I feel like I am drowning and I don't know what else to do.

Student debt.

Hi i hope somebody can help me with this. The last semester i attended at UMCP in 2011 I wasnt able to pay the remaining balance; therefore i wasnt allowed to register to the following semester. The debt is now being handle by a collection agency and I am trying to find a loan to pay the amount due and re enrolled to finish the year i have left fot my undergrad. the banks I have applied to denied the application due to "present obligations with others" which is what i want to use the loan to pay for. Also, the fact that im not enrolled at this point doesnt let me qualify for any loan.

I have 3 credit cards $2000 @ 29.9% $1200 @ 12.9% $2000 ($500 overlimit) @ 29.9% a couple other cards are $30/month with low balances. My car will be paid off Jan 2013 @ 365/month. Just got injured in January 2012 and medical bills are about $3000. I am having a difficult time managing and haven't been able to make 2 last payments on the $500 overlimit credit card and none of my medical yet. Any help/suggestion on steps to pay off my debts?
