I have considerable debt including a lot of payday loans. Most of it has been accumulated paying off the payday loans. I had a bankruptcy, so that's not an options. I really would like to pay things off. I think debt consolidation is the best way to go. I can't get a loan because my credit is shot because of the bankruptcy, so far I'm not behind on anything. I've investigated all but one seems to be licensed in Utah. Can someone please just recommend a reputable company that is licensed in Utah that handles payday loan debt?

Ok so I sent out the letters to the payday lenders stating I've paid the principal balance and then some. That I will not be paying any more. That they are illegal in my state because they are NOT licensed. That I expect a refund and revoked ACH debits and wage assignment. I have closed my bank account. With two of these lenders my online account immediately changed to Paid in Full but they both have previous loan numbers (not the current loan number) and they give me a link to apply again.

I cannot believe it!!!! We sent the email to VIP Cash on the evening of 3/30/12. We never thought we would hear from them again... Hubby got a call last week asking to verify our address and told us that a check (gave the check #) along with a letter telling us the account was paid in full would be coming. We still didn't believe. Came home this afternoon and the check was in our mailbox!!!!! They really refunded us the $1,690 that we overpaid!!!!!!!! Hoping someone can help me out.....I got wonderful advice several years ago that helped our family tremendously to settle debt. I went through a bunch of debt settlement in 2008 (successfully settled 5 out of 6 accounts on my own). I was sued in 2009 by Citi (the only one that would not settle) and went to court in a wheelchair because I was on bedrest during my pregnancy. We never got to see a judge because the court was backed up that day, so I met with the attorney. I agreed to pay a settlement in Jan 2010 once my pregnancy was over.

Sorry for the length of the post!! I filed a complaint with the Ohio AG against Cashcall reporting on my credit report and the amount they say I owe; even though I took the PDL from Western Sky. Please find attached the response from Cashcall. The AG response to me was basically nothing more we can do, we suggest you hire a private attorney. What does it mean that Cashcall identified themselves as an Assignee for Cashcall. Since Western Sky is not reporting on my Credit Report should Cashcall have that right and how do we as consumers stop this underhanded scheme?

I got myself in a pickle here which I have tried in good faith to get out of. Reading these forums are overwhelming, and I did try to search on the Ohio Financial License website to see if these were legitimate but not sure if I went about it correctly. Can someone assist? Obviously live in Ohio, the lenders are: -Plain Green -CashNetUSA (looks like they are only approved for mortgage?) -Check N Go -Fedfinsrv_ltd, which I think Payday Nation services. I never knew these could be illegal! I would appreciate any assistance in verifying that.

Two days ago I called a CA that has been sending letters for several months now. The problem is that I am receiving letters from two other collection agencies for what I believed was the same account. All three letters are in regard to a US bank account and we only had one US Bank account ever (it was a reserve line on a checking account). I called them to try and figure out who truly has the right to be collecting on this debt when I was told this was for a Us Bank Visa card, which we never had.

Hello, I've searched through the PDL threads and the site itself but I haven't been able to find a clear and definitive answer. I've now received several phone calls from debt collection companies after I sent out my letters stating that their loans were illegal. Vandelier group which is illegal in my state (CA) stated that they would accept my payments and apply them towards the principal but would not issue a refund. I've repaid the principal plus $125.
