Hey everyone, I had a few payday loans in January of this year, and was having a hard time paying them back so I found this forum and did what was recommended, sending each lender a letter stating they can't take any more money from my bank and that I would pay them the rest of the principal when they contacted me.

Over the past 2 years or so I have gotten into a horrible cycle of payday loans. Most of the time I am able to pay them back but recently im just barely getting by so I decided to research ways to get out of this cycle. While researching I found that internet or any type of payday loan in NC is illegal and contacted the Attorney Generals Office and I was told to shut down my bank accounts, pay the principle, and ask for a refund of overpayments. Now I just finished my first letter thanks to this forum and what is the likely hood that they will reimburse me for loans over the past 2 years?

I have had some collection agencies contact me about paying stuff. I told a few of them to just put it on the credit report. They might have a better chance of getting paid. Is this correct? Especially since there are a few companies on there making inquiries and reviewing accounts.

Ok so i missed one payment on citi for my 14.5k balance. They have called and I havent picked up. Spoke to them once and they wouldnt offer anything. When I pick up what should I do next? My second payment to miss is on the 21st. Am I waiting for them to offer a deal? How many days do I wait usually or should I not pay for? What is charge off am I waiting for this? When does this start to affect the credit in a negative? Thanks

I live in tn & have 5 internet pdl's. Loans are only legal here if company is licensed some place else. Are beacon loans, ck marketing, e cash advance, gentle breeze & 123 wages legal in America? I'be had each loan for awhile & have been principle back if they are illegal. I want my paycheck back. Thanks.

Hello. I've been reading the forum religiously for the past few days and just registered because I need help with my situation. I live in the state of MD. From what I understand, PDLs aren't exactly illegal in the state, though the lender has to be registered and abide to the state's usury laws.

Both my brother and my mother got a call from someone from Ridgeview Mediation Group stating that this is a verbal warning and then I will be taken to court. This caught me off guard as I've had the same phone number for 6 years and haven't received any calls or anything. Also I haven't seen anything in the mail relating to anything along those lines. So I call back this Ridgeview Mediation Group and I'm told that this is in regards to a Cash NetUSA loan from 2008.

Hi! In August I took out a $300 loan with Red Stone Cash. Every two weeks since then, I have paid $100. The amount on the website shows that I owe $405 still, but I have paid more than that :( I have some questions. 1.) Are they legal in MN? 2.) Do I still need to keep paying them and what do I do??? I have a debt with Dell now being collected by Valentine and Kebartas. I lost my job and fell behind in my payments, so I was calling Dell about every 2 months and setting up auto payments, 2 payments at a time, but this was never enough to catch up the past due amount. So, now they have sent it to Valentine and Kebartas to collect. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with V&K as far as payment plans they will accept, or not accept. I really just want to pay my debt. I'm back to work now full-time and working hard to get back on track.
