Try to write it in your own words but use the template as a model. These lenders pretty much know they aren't legal so I am quite sure they're expecting it.

I am afraid they will harass the crap out of you. The best thing to do is refuse to speak with them, if they call, don't answer it, if you do answer it and find it is ANY payday lender on the other line hang up immediately. Don't even give them the time of day, the more you talk to them, the more they will call. Only communicate with them via email and if they call don't tell them that because they already know, just hang up. What they're trying to do is get you to listen to them on the phone so they can try to scare you with all kinds of empty threats, ignore them, don't talk to them, they will tire sooner talking to thin air then if they have someone to argue with. Remember, there is no reasoning with these people, they have ONE thing in mind and that is to scare the crap out of you so they can get more money out of you.

Can they do this? loan was $200/$120

They can do that but now that they have turned this over to a collection agency all you need to do is reply to icollect and let them know they are trying to collect on an illegal loan, also remind them that they are bound by the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) and you will be monitoring their activity to be assured they are following the law!

None of these show to be legal in Texas, what does that mean as far as stopping ACH withdrawals after closing my bank account

Please start a new topic and copy and paste this information into it, thanks!

I am trying to find information about Borrow Cash Now. I have tried the link you posted to find out if they are legal in Texas, and I am unable to find anything. I am getting calls from a collection agency's attorney in New York saying they are filing court documents against me in Harris County tomorrow. I have called New York, and they find no record of the attorney mentioned. I don't know what to do next. They also called my mom and left a message stating they were filing papers in Harris County court against me. I know they cannot disclose that to her. What do I do next? I am afraid they are filing, but if can find out they are not licensed in Texas, I know they have no standing.
