OK First TY for helping in anyway you can. Basically I needed to file Chapter 7 which was a hard thing to wrap my head around. I owed 30k in cc's and my mortgage of 135k with a 14k HELOC. I was really new to all of this and really didnt want to lose my house which I loved and didnt want to move my kids. My thought was if I include my house I was out on the street with my wife and kids. So, when the lawyer asked if I wanted to keep the house I said yes and he didn't say anything about that. So, I reaffirmed on House, HELOC, Car, and Motorcycle.

Well, Cap1 threw me a curve ball today. Thought I was going to settle with them until the rep threw out the verbiage, "settled with an outstanding balance" when reporting to the credit report. What exactly does this mean? The rep says that Cap1 will not come after me for the remaining balance, but will they charge off the remaining balance? I am very confused and did not agree to anything yet... She would not change the verbiage... Thx

In late 2008 I moved out of a California apartment complex and had some debt left over due to carpet replacement. A few months after moving out I received a call from IQ Data regarding the data. They told me if I paid the debt in full right then, It wouldn't be reported on my credit report. Already planning to pay this debt, i agreed and paid them. I never received a receipt and was unable to get any one on the phone again. Now 3 years later, I go to check my credit report and I find that IQ Data is still reporting that I still have a debt.

I live in California. I work in the staffing/recruiting industry. I worked for a company in California from 2007 through 2009 that is now bankrupt or on the verge of bankruptcy. I worked for that company as a recruiter (employee) and from time to time, signed employee contracts when I placed candidates at our client locations. Now one of the companies with whom the company did business sent me a letter through a debt collector to collect money on their behalf.

i just want to know if they are ligit or not.i'm not saying i dont owe but can they put my in jail for 200.00

A couple weeks ago, I was contacted by a company calling themselves Consolidated, claiming to be a mediation company and that I owed their client money for a payday loan I took out in 2007. Now, I admit that I had taken out a couple loans at that time, and they did name the bank with whom I had a checking account with back in those days. The excessive fees forced me to cancel my payroll's direct deposit and eventually the account was closed by the bank. At the time, I had a simple choice, pay for rent and food, or pay them.

i currently have too many payday loans that trapping me in hell. every paid check goes to the interest and i cant do anything else besides staying at home and watch Tom&Jerry....would some1 help me out please. i have these loans: Ace Cash express: $975 principal/ 300 interest /paid 0. Installment loan with ChecknGo: 2000 principal/ i already made 8 payments of $292 every 2 weeks Ezloan money service: $500/$112 interest/ paid 2 times the interest CashnetUSa :$500/$128/paid 0 AmeriLoan : $300/$90/paid 0 And I live in Houston,TX.

I lost my job after being with a company for 25 years and finally found employment after 1 year. I had four accounts and they have been all charged off , it was either food and shelter for the kids or credit card debt. I have been dealing with three CA and have settled with two. Client Services settled on a 8,000 Chase debt for $2,000. United Recoveries settled on a 13,000 Capitol One for 6500. I took the Capitol One offer because from what I heard on this thread they are tough. United has the other Chase account (5000) and won't settle for less than 50%.

I got a loan for $750 from cashnetusa. I am in texas. I soon lost my job and was unable to payback my loan. Now I am getting phone calls from someone claiming to be a lawyer. I just need to know is there anything legally or criminally that can be done to me if I don't pay them?
