I received a summons and court date from Suttell and Hammer. It lists Capital One as the creditor although I cannot find any account information or amount. I tried to call the office-it just rings. I left a message for one of the attorneys but still no response. They never answer....has anyone experience this? Also, there is a court date set but how am I to respond when I have no idea what it is for? Thank you

I do have a loan taken out with ESL. I am going to include a few emails, which include my balance, how much I owe, and what arrangements I have gotten setup. I have recently found out the requirements for SC, my state, and have tried to get my account zeroed out, but they will not do that. After one of my latest emails, I called in to try to see what was happening. She said they had removed my arrangements, and I would have to repay as normal unless I want to go ahead and get that setup.

I used a "music club" for some time and they sent me the wrong products Anyhow it went into collections while I was living at my fathers house . we share the same name. So it comes to light that not only do they refuse to stop harassing him (i have not lived there for over 5 years), they are reporting it against his credit report as well. Obviously this is highly illegal, but i have no idea how to approach this. They have turned my father into a collector and is causing a huge riff. I did not think they are even able to discuss my debt with anyone else???

Back on January 11th 2012 I sent this collector a letter (no contact and send proof letter) in regards to PayDay Max. I recieved a response from them over the weekend. I asked them to send me proof including PayDay Max's license to practice in Wisconsin, Professioanl Debt Mediations license in Wisconsin, application, bills, records of communications and payment history with PayDay Max. They did provide me with the electronic contract with my electronic signature. They also showed that the amount financed was 500.00 with a Finance Charge of 166.25.

I have a verizon account that was opened more then 10 years ago. After a dispute for early termination fees, I stopped paying. I am looking at the credit report and shows that it went to two different collection agencies but the time is very recent. I thought the account should be kept from the time the account was opened and not when a collection agency takes over. Is this legal? thanks

About 8 years ago my husband in Calif. died from a catastropic medical condition. Transportation and lodging alone cost almost $10,000, and on my reduced income I couldn't survive and pay just the minimums. I don't remember the date of my decision to stop making payments. I'm trying to help my elderly mother purchase a small home, she has about $25,000., her credit was destroyed by my sister, who stole mother's house, belongings, and income after my father's death.

:confused:I recently set up a payment arrangement with DCS for their rehab program. I've been paying them for a few months now and when I set up this agreement I was told that since payments were being made that my wages wouldn't be garnished and my taxes wouldn't be touched. Well I just checked my refund for my taxes and found out that all of my refund was taken due to a flag on my social security number from DCS. Not only was I told that this wouldn't happen, but they also told my mother the same thing.

I have had several CA calling nonstop mostly on the hour some with phone numbers (Portfolio) and others always showing as "out of area". I have been reading plenty about the cease and desist letters and plan on that but they are apparently calling family members who I havent lived with since I was a kid and my brother who lives in a totally different state and has for years (our first names are not even close).
