im got a phone call saying that i am being sued by a payday advance back from 2008. the original balance was 255 for the loan and they jacked it up to 1300 per loan. on top of that i have bank statements saying that i never dealt with them in july of 08 but they are saying that i did and i did not pay them. i did go through them in november 08 and times beofre that. i always paid them. i want to work something out but he want the money up front or he said it will go through court. he is also saying that i owe them for 2 loans making the total over 4k.

I was served papers this past friday by them, for an old debt from Cross COuntry Bank. Does anyone know the odds of getting out of the suit with a lawyer, versus going to trial and them having all the info needed... and me having to pay the full amoutn in the end? Thanks, E

Once you send a company a DV letter, how long do they have to answer in writing? Then if they don't can I contact the CRA's and send them a copy of what I sent and show no response and have it removed? Some of my accounts on my credit report show "collections" but don't say who with. How do I find that out? Also on credit report is shows "date for item to be deleted". Does that mean it will fall off the credit report then? I have two or three that are within the next 3 months. If a payday loan collector will not give you a address to mail a DV letter, what do you do next?

I am living in New York and has several pay day loans. i had to close my account as it got out of control. I now have several collection agency calling me at work and threatening me with going to court. I have loans with galaxy management, cash call, pack management and loan shop online. I want to settle my accounts but how do I stop the arrassment at work. they have gone as far as to conatct my suprvisor about serving me a summons.

Hello, I applied online for a payday loan $350 in February 2011. I thought I was pay loan down but found out the $120 coming out of my bank account was only interest every two weeks. I have paid this company 5x of what my loan was for and I don't want to pay any more. I had Internet then but moved and lost all contact information, because I don't have the same email or phone/internet provider. The bank only have a reference number and Titan Group, LLC but no contact information.

I could not get Wells Fargo to stop or close my account, so it just keeps happening. What letters can I send to Great Sky/Alliance Funding and Wells Fargo? I am getting so stressed out for my stupidity of getting a payday loan and I'm tired of hearing we are a tribal community and your laws don't apply to us. There has to be a way to stop this.

greetings everyone ~ My 16 yo son was caught shoplifting from our local Rite Aid. The item was less than $2. He was released to us and the store stated they would not press any charges. Less than a week later, we received a letter from this law firm demanding a payment of $300 for "civil penalties". I responded with a C&D letter. Three days ago, I received another letter now demanding $750. Of course, they threated further legal action against us if we don't pay. How should I respond? I did some research and it appears this is a scam.

i got a call from guy with a heavy mid-east accent and he said that i need to settle out of court or go to jail. gave me a case number and said it was filed in kings county court of new york. he had my drivers lic number and social number. he said in 2 weeks i would go to jail. have one number but wants me to call him on cell only. please advise
