Can a United States based timeshare company enfore outstanding debt payment on Canadian customers? The debt is for about $15,000and a payment has not been made in 6 months. At this point phone calls and threats have been received on a daily basis,but the understanding that has been passed on is that they will continue to call and intimidate as there is no legal recourse. Clearing up this matter would be ideal, but dealing with them is next to impossible. Information would be appreciated.

I have read that after 25 years of accruing a student loan debt, the debt is eradicated and then the debtor must then pay taxes on that amount. However, if you consolidate the loan, you lose that. By consolidating the loan, you are starting the clock all over again. Is this true? Can anything be done re the 25 years? I was not aware of this 25 year forgiveness situation at the time I consolidated (5 years ago). This is not advertised on any Government student loan website. Had I known this, I would not have consolidated. Thanks in advance for any help.

I didn't take my son (then all of 2) to the ER in FL back in 1997

The debt is assigned to my son I don't want my son's credit to be ruined before he's even established it. How should I respond? Do I send them a DV letter or cease & desist citing Statute of Limitations? Thanks in advance!!!

[COLOR=black]How does a consumer prove that an EOB was sent to the Vendor and that there was never a need to go to a debit collector. And how does a consumer prove that there was lack of response on the collector???s part or original vendor? Because that is what exactly happened for the last nine months with Transcare of New York, ambulance vendor and Professional Recovery Associates, ( their debit collector) Humana the insurance provider sent the EOB several times I have also sent the EOB several times and then no vender ever sent an invoice to match it!.

If you have a student loan you paid on until you lost your job and called Chase Bank to arrange a different payment plan until you were working again and they wouldn't help but demanded full payment and you still paid an amount but not full until you were working can they not accept any payments and demand full payment of the loan? If so and you cannot come up with that kind of money what can they do to you or the cosigner?

I took a loan out in Feb. 2010 lost my job and had to close my bank account out to it would not be negative and so I would not owe the bank any money. The company Cashnet usa is now calling me inregards to this unpaid debt. Is there any laws about how long they can still collect on a debt?

I just had a guy call that said his name was mark stepknee and that he was a process server trying to set up a time to serve the papers to me. He said the case # was USCOM 2317 and that the plantiff's number was 855-602-7999. I have no idea what this is about and I don't know if i should call. He said he would be actively trying to serve the papers at my work or home- Is this a legitimate process server???????
