They're trying to haggle and setup a $60/mo. 3 year payment plan. Should I sign their agreement paper or lawyer up? Also waitin' any minute now for the sheriff to come serve me the papers.

I have been caught in this PDL trap for almost 1 year now and not sure how to get out. Nelly, in the state of North Carolina I paid a debt in full and the creditor I owed did not change or remove late fees over the limit fees. Can a debt collector get a judgement against you in this case. The credit that was issued to me was for $300.00 and I paid them back $601.00. And when I talked to the bank that issued me the credit card they would never agree that I paid them back double. The bank put on the monthly statement that I made purchases when I didn't. I only used this card one time. Now I have a collection agency trying to sue me for $2,500 that I don't owe.
