Can anyone tell me which costs more - prepaid debit cards or checking accounts?

I work in a reputed college in California. I have applied for a new credit card few days back. The card company is offering a very low credit limit. I have few other credit cards. I am current on all of them. I have requested the credit card company to increase the credit limit. But they are refusing to do so. They are only offering credit limit up to $500. It is so low. Why is the card company behaving in this manner. I can't understand.

About a year ago, I visited a dentist who talked me into getting a deep cleaning. Before getting the procedure, I had them check with my insurance company that it was in fact covered under my policy and what my exact co-pay would be. I then paid the requested co-pay and never gave it a second thought. To my surprise, a few months later, I started getting calls from a law office which they had retained to collect over $1,200 from me. Apparently, they did not agree with the prices set by the insurance company and instead decided to come after me for the full amount. I refused to pay.

I received a notice from a collection agency requesting that I notify them of the validity of a debt that I am disputing with the U.S. Dept of Education. The collection agency gave me 30 days to answer...I have been talking directly with the Dept of Education about the loan and I feel like I shouldnt bother talking with them as they tried to mislead me about my options in dealing with the the debt. The Dept of Education said they while they reviewed my loan discharge application I wouldnt be subject to any collection agency.

I have just applied for loan consolidation of my 90,000 in Sallie Mae loans through http://loanconsolidation.ed.gov. My monthly payments are 1,100 and it is a major burden. I'm a month behind on some of my loan payments. I spoke with the help line at http://loanconsolidation.ed.gov and was told that as long as my loans were not in default it would not be a problem. I have two questions. 1. Since it takes 2-3 months for the consolidation to be approved, would it hurt me if I just didnt make any payments during that time frame. (you have to be 270 days behind to be in default). 2.

Can a bank close you due to you putting in a claim for refund without notice rudely and hold all your funds until they are finished and they put it processing your account they are closing

I live in NC and have defaulted on some payday loans. Can I be sued for this? I know payday loans are illegal in NC.

I received some calls from a company called united legal group or something like that. The man stated that they were attempting to serve me a summons due to a payday loan that was never paid back in 2008. They are threatening to take me to court over a $600.00 payday loan. I stated to the man that I wanted proof of what is owed either by email or by mail before i make a settlement payment. He claims he cannot send me an email because they are not a collection agency. What are my rights?? Do you think they will really take me to court on attempting to defraud the company if i dont settle??

Hi, I would like top find out if the following interent payday loan lenders are licensed in California: USFastCash, 500FastCash (same people as USFastCash), and VIP LoanShop? Also, I am curious about cashcentral, cashnetusa, checkngo, and checkcity? Finally, from what I read it seems like 247GreenStreet is in Canada and not licensed in CA, or anywhere in the US. I have some questions. I'm new to this. I sent FJH a debt validation letter on 11-6-2010 and their response was a "verification" letter claiming I owe, xxxx.xx on the alleged debt. I sent them another validation letter on 12-10-2010. I havent received no correspondence from FJH in 3 months. Well today I was served with a judgement against me.. FJH refused to validate and ignore my request TWICE. Should I deny everything? The only truth I admit is the my home address on the complaint. The rest I'm denying. Affirmative Defense? Should I write this on a second sheet?
