I need to find a consolidation company where you don't have to pay all of your debt. I don't know what that is called.

Has anyone ever heard of these people they call from a 315-350 3305 number its somewhere in Syracuse, NY. I tried to help my friend get empowered and she goa a call saying they were filing charges on her by the 17th of March as you see it's well into the 23rd and nothing yet. If anyone has knowledge of these people I would like to know so I can inform her of their scam.

I received a call last night from a rep from Northstar to settle a Barclay/Midwest card for less than half ~ 5600-5900 from a 12000 card i put in debt consolidation last March with another firm. Could I offer them less since I don't have that kind of money? The gal gave me an email address, but I cannot send anything to it.

Anyone here ever heard of Chieftain Funding. They claim to own Loan Point USA, but I thought GRC owned Loan Point USA? I received a call from a company who identified themselves as "United" and claimed to be a legal firm calling on behalf of Chieftain Funding aka Loan Point USA. The number "United" called from was 1-888-839-1711.

This occurred in 2009, in the state of Ohio. I remember receiving paperwork about this debt from Asset Acceptance, and remember sending several certified letters to them (as well as the courts)asking for confirmation of this debt. I remember going back and forth with them two or three times via mail because they did not provide me with the information that I requested.

I have received numerous calls from this company. They continue to make a point that they are not a collection agency. However, they request a return call with a file number they reference. If they are not a collection agency, what are they?

If I have entered into a FINRA arbitration case and then withdraw with prejudice, can I then later enter into a class action suite against the same party? Or am I blocked by the withdrawal with prejudice of the initial arbitration? Thanks for the help.
