I have heard I can settle medical debt with professional or legal help. Can I do it on my own?

Should I rely on the words of the collection agency? Few days back, a CA contacted me to make payments on an account I have yet to pay back in full. Will I start negotiating with them or ask them to validate the debt?

I'm in the Army and I'm looking to reduce my monthly payments on my credit debts. I have a debt with Chase for about $5000, a Lending tree debt of about $30,000 and a debt of about $20,000 with my bank Security Service Federal Credit Union. " To whom it may concern, It has come to my attention that payday lenders must be licensed by the state of California in order to offer loans to its residents. Since your company has no license in my state, the loan contract I have with you is not valid. To date, I received a deposit of $250 on 11/01/2016 and have had 4 debits of $75 and one for $87.50. The $250 principal has been paid with an overpayment of $137.50.

Hello, I was just made aware of an old derogatory account by Verizon that had been sent to collections and now showed up on my TransUnion report; when I got denied an apartment rental because of it. They said I could get it fixed and reapply, but not until the status of it changes on my credit report. I would dispute the whole thing with Verizon but I don't have time to go through that whole process (my current lease is up at the end of the month). I ended up paying the collections agency and and now waiting on a confirmation letter from them. I'm unsure how to proceed after that.

Can I enroll in debt consolidation to reduce the interest from a payday line of credit loans. The interest rates are over 300% and they are taking over $900 every 2 weeks from my checking account. I just had to change jobs and take a pay cut and start paying $280 every 2 weeks for health insurance and I'm not going to be able to pay my other living expenses at the rate I'm going.
