same problems with CCA

14 years 10 months ago
CCA has posted negative info regarding an unexplained debt with Equifax. I have never received any mailings from CCA nor do I have any idea what the alleged debt concerns. For whatever reason the only credit reporting agency recognizing CCA's claim is Equifax. TransUnion and Expirian have no records of the CCA claim. I've written Equifax 2x regarding this problem but have not, as yet, received any reply form them (Equifax).

never received settlement letter from hsbc

14 years 10 months ago
Hi -- I posted an answer on a previous thread but I wanted to know if I agreed to a settlement with best buy (hsbc) and I asked them to fax a settlement letter to me, or at least mail one to me which I still have not received should I in good faith make the first settlement amount? -- I made the agreement verbally on 3/4 and was told I would have to make my first payment on 3/18 for 400.00 I still have not received the settlement letter from hsbc confirming the settlement.

Debt Validation question

14 years 10 months ago
I have an HSBC Bank card that has gone to a collection agency (just received a letter from the CA). The total is $3,700. It is slightly over 120 days past due. I have the funds to settle. I am hoping to get around 35%, 40% max. Is sending a debt validation letter at this point smart move? Will it help buy more time to get to the 150-180 day sweet spot for negotiating?

MyCashNow.com (Credit Protection Depot)

14 years 10 months ago
Hello all - What great information you have compiled here!! In researching MyCashNow, I came to the conclusion that payments are processed through CreditProtectionDepot (I had to make an alternate arrangement and was referred to CreditProtectionDepot) from the main # at MCN. In doing many, many searches, I come up with Nevada addresses (for Credit Prot Depot). I also found a copy of a lawsuite on line against them that included in the Order that Silver Shield Services was their registered agent.

idealgelt in texas

14 years 10 months ago
Hi, I live in Texas. I had a $300 loan with Idealgelt last year. After paying over $1k, I finally sent them a cease and desist letter that I found on your site because I think they are not licensed here in Texas. They sent me two emails, but then never contacted me again. Friday afternoon and this morning I received phone calls from Asset Acceptance at work telling me I now need to pay $650.

Threatened w/ summons on voicemail

14 years 10 months ago
I received a voicemail threatening me with being served with a summons if I did not return the phone call. The agency is an outfit called SKW capital who apparently received the debt from NCA. Needless to say, I did call back and speak with them. I informed them that I had recently made a payment online to NCA towards a settlement on an old payday loan $200). I was told that was too late and I needed to make immediate arrangements with them or I would have to appear in court and pay a $2600.00 fine for writing a bad check. Have I just been fleeced or can I sent them a DV letter and C&D?

disabled and in debt problems

14 years 10 months ago
I am a 60 years old man and live on disability benefits. I get around $500 from my disability benefits. It is not enough to cover my monthly expenses. So, I have to use credit cards to cover other costs. I pay nearly $100 on my credit card bills. It is getting difficult for me to pay this $100 also. So, I am thinking to ignore the bills from next month. My question is, can the credit card company seize my home from me. I have only this thing left to me. What can happen if I don't pay my credit card bill?
