Hello, I have received several calls from Mr. Hazel from the Paul Kupferstein law office in the last week. He has also called friends and my workplace. I defaulted on a pay day loan from the Cash Store. I had borrowed $1,500.00 and Mr. Hazel said that the amount owing is now $2,281.44. He said that if I didn't send him at least 50% today he would be suing me which could include a charge of fraud. He implied he would be contacting the police here in Fort McMurray. I have never had anything like this happen to me before so of course I was scared.

My husband had a judgement filed against him from the attorneys representing LVNV Funding several years ago and we have recently received a settlement offer on this judgement. My question is this: Can they still pursue collection on this judgement and what is the steps we should take from here. The offer is good only through the end of March, 2011. What should we do? The attorney's office said we would have to file the release with the county after they received payment. I am really quite naive about this and want to clear this from his credit. This has gone on entirely too long!

I have slm "private"( didn't know about at the time) loans that went into default, and now i deal with allied interstate. I have worked out a payment arragement with them, and they send me a monthly statement saying they are taking out the money for that month. But I have asked numerous times for some type of statement stating what we have agreed upon, and they refuse to give me one. CAn they do that ???

My ex received a call from a special investigator saying that there was a restraining order against me and that I needed to call Shannon stone or five information to my lawyer but I needed to appear in court I've called the number to the central legal network and the phone just rings. The area code is 813 I know no one in Florida that would have a restraining order against me. Is this a scam?

I just got a suspicious collection letter from first national collection bureau alleging i owe money to bank first, who i've never had an account with. I looked up their address above on google maps, clicked on streetview, and there is nothing there, only a stretch of hiway, looks like a train track.... go figure

I have a Newport News credit card, which is funded by World Financial Network National Bank. I have a payment due tomorrow, March 2nd. I tried to pay it online, but was only given same day payment option for a fee of $10, or an option to pay after March 3, which means, of course, I would be charged a late fee of $25.00. I called and to pay over the phone, I have to pay a $10.00 fee. They refuse to give me the option to have payment posted for March 2 (the due date). This is obviously just a way of getting more money for fees that are already outrageous. Can this possibly be lega?.

Capitol collections has violated every statue of the fair debt CollectionPractice Act. They need to be stopped. I will not be terroized by a bunce of incompetent debt collectors. block theie number they use another number, abusive language, threats and continous calls. If they were to be civil maybe i would have worked out a settlement but now it is personal.
