I've been dealing with MCM for a couple months so far. Here's the (next) problem. My credit report states that an old Household CC account, which went into collections 7 years ago is estimated to come off of my credit report around 1/2011. Considering the last payment I made to them was 2/2004, next month would be the 7 year mark and I guess it's supposed to come off. Midland Credit Management has been calling to try to make a settlement for a few months now. I know that I'm past the Illinois SOL (5 yrs) so it's not like they can sue...well, they can try, but I'm thinking it won't hold up.

I rec'd a letter yesterday from atty M.J. Scott, who is mentioned all over this forum. The CC account went into default approx 6 -8 years ago. There have been no pmts by me since that time and no contact with me at all in this time. Every now and again throughout the years I would get a letter from various collection agencies where this acct was still being "sold." However, I did not respond. I live in Texas and the SOL is four years, so not sure why this acct is still being passed around with it being well over the SOL.

I need help with payday loan info. A check was written in 2002 for $500 a collection person is call now saying its $1000 with late charges and saying they are going to turn me over to the IRS for nonreported income. The check was written in Florida and I live in Illinois now. Do i have any rights?

Pressler and Pressler got and order to levy my checking account on 1/19/2011. That same afternoon I deposited $670.00 into my checking account, and $570.00 of that was paid out to my girlfriends daughter's Smart Tuition account on 1/20/2011. The bank re-credit the $570.00, after the fact , creating new assets of $570.00 and charged me a $40.00 late charge. Is that legal!!!!!!

Does anyone know either of these numbers? I received a call from 724-884-0847 that left a message stating they needed a return phone call from either me or my attorney on an important decision that can be made with or without my return phone call. The return phone number they left is 866-402-4043. They didn't leave any business name or other information. I haven't received any correspondence via mail or e-mail either. If this is a CA, aren't they required to send a dunning letter? Any advice on if I should call this number back?

A collection company called me reguarding a payday loan from 2002 for $500 and said i owe them $1000 it was written in Florida and I now live in Illinois they said if I dont pay they will contact the IRS and report it as income. What r my rights?

Has anyone had problems with a payday loan company flattening their tires or damaging their car? I got to the point that I couldn't afford to pay them anymore. The day I was supposed to pay them my tires were flattened and/also the roof of my car was damaged on the next pay day.. Today is my birthday and I woke up to a flattened tire. Has anyone had a similar experience? I'm trying to figure out who is doing this and am wondering if it's the payday loan company.
