Is there a letter template that can used for asking for a payment plan and also stating that the payments are going to be made by money order and not debited from any account what so ever? I have two companies that are legal in the state of MD from what the MD commission On Financial Regulation told me today. They said I need to make payment arrangements with them., The comanies are Cash Plus USA and Cash Net.

I am just venting a little so pardon my behavior right now. Do you ever feel like shaking the crap out of people who come here and ask for advice, and you spend a lot of time researching and posting a reply with good sound advice, then they turn around and do the opposite, then comes back to the forum boo hooing because they didn't listen! Oh it just irks me sometimes, I don't think some of these guests and members realize how much time and work it takes to research and post advice! OK done. lol Fell better now.

Okay, either the forum is having issues or my computer is. I'm sorry if this is a duplicate post (but i can't see my post anywhere else right now). I decided to come home and post under my name so it's easier to track. :) My "issue": I took out an online payday loan with Mesa in late 2009 (not 100% sure of the date). The loan was for $250. The interest that was paid was $60 every two weeks. I paid well over $700 (I believe it was closer to $1000 – but, I do not have all of my bank statements in front of me right now).

I just received a call from a law office. They are trying to collect from a payday loan from 2008. The company was Fast Cash Payday Loans. They said the amount that I owe is $1,506.43. I only borrowed $400.00. I was told if I did not pay they will start proceeding and could go to jail for Fraud. She said they would file an ADR? I am in Florida. I have three kids and can not go to jail. Can they really arrest me? Worried in Florida

I was told that if your debt goes to a CA and you end up settling, to ask the CA to release you from the original creditor and give this to you in writing, so that they won't come back later and sue you. Can original creditors actually do this? If so, what can I do to avoid this? :confused:

I once heard from Ms. Orman that if you settle on your own with your creditors, do not send in a personal check, but a bank cashier's check or money order AND write " If this check is cashed, that makes this acct# settled in full". How do I know that just by putting these words on the check, that they won't report it as "settled" to the credit bureaus? I've also heard to first get in writing, a letter stating that they will report it as "paid in full" instead of "settled" to the credit bureaus, BEFORE, you pay them anything.

a collection agency contaacted a former employer, who was a physician, and information was given to the collection agency out of my husband's chart who was a patinet at the physician's office. Was his right to privacy violated when the call was not regarding him at all?:confused:
