Hi - first post but I've been absorbing info from this amazing site for many months now. I tried to register on here but it keep rejecting my info ... anyhow, here's my story. I live in CA. I have no assets besides a car that's not paid off yet. I'm approximately 21k indebt on 6 cards. 2009 was an abominable year for me finacially (and a million other folks). I've been in good standing with cc's for all my years as a customer. I ceased payments on all cards starting in October (except Cap One b/c I hear they're the most difficult to settle with - also my largest debt, 6k).

Has anyone had any luck with Everest Cash Advance, either a PIF or refund? It seems that we just keep going back and forth with the emails since there is no physical address to send any correspondence to. I have filed complaints with the BBB (no luck) and the NJ Dept of Banking & Insurance, NJ State AG and the Internet Crimes Complaint Center. I know investigations and responses from these agencies take time, especially since they are located outside the US. Once and a while they call my cell phone and job but I don't answer and just send the email again.

Has anyone ever had to go to court with these people, just wondering because I told them they would have to take me to court if they wanted to try to get anymore money out of me Standing up For Florida

Hi, just a real quick question. I have a debt of $672 with Calvary Portfolio Services and I want to call them today to settle this. What do you think an acceptable offer would be? Do you think they would accept an offer of $200 or $250? I have settled a debt before where they took less, but I can't remember how much. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am ready to get this off my credit and be debt free! :)

I recently realized I had a few unpaid traffic tickets from 2005, that have since gone to collections here in WA state with Alliance One. At this point, they have not been posted on my credit report nor have I been contacted by them (they may have tried sending a letter to the previous out of state address the vehicle was under at the time the tickets were received, but I never received that) Now that my wife and I are getting ready to start shopping for a house, etc.
