I have a furniture credit card that was issued through this bank. The due date is near the beginning of the month and I get paid on the 15th. I was racking up $35 fees every month so I called to inquire about changing the due date and was told they can't do that! Is that true????

Portfolio Recovery called me regarding an old cc bill. When I talked to them the only thing I said (over and over) was to send me a debt validation letter. I told them this on 2 different occassions. Of course they never sent me anything at all and now on my credit report it says "account iformation disputed by consmer (meets equirement of the Fair Credit reporting Act)". What does this mean?

We live in Dallas, Texas. the loans are as follows: EZ Money: 785 Check into Cash: 480 Ace: 480 Payday America: 480 what are our options? Is there a attorney that helps with these types of loans? QXL keeps taking money out of my bank account. I borrowed $200 and they have taken 5 payments of $52.00 each and another $52.00 payment was returned due to insufficient funds in my account. I can't get in contact with anyone to ask them what they are doing, but I called my bank, Chase, and they told me to close my account and they will re-route any outstanding checks you've written to a new account number and you can file a claim for any money that they were not authorized to take from your account. Never again will I do a loan like this online. Crazy...

I am considering settling on a private boat loan that is through Sallie Mae. I am NOT in default, and have always made every payment, on time, since we got the loan in 2005, but we want to sell the boat now, and buyers are not offering anywhere near the price to pay off the loan ($18,000). Last year, when I was making a payment over the phone, an agent asked if I would be interested in settling on a full payoff of the loan at 20%.

I took out a payday loan and can not find the contact information for them. The debit they take out is PLATINUM CASHLIN COLLECTION. I am unable to find a telephone number and one does not appear on my online bank statement. Thanks in advance for the help!

While my credit score isn't bad, it isn't great, either. It's keeping us from getting the best mortgage rate, though. A few late payments and one charge-off from 5 years ago, but we paid it in full. We haven't had a credit card in 4 years now. Would getting a credit card and using it help raise my score?
