I paid off a debt last week and when I spoke to this office they said it would be taken care of and my wages wouldnt be touched......... weel that didnt happen they were taken out anyway now i want it back without making a fuss about it what's next to get it back and stop the nonsense

My husband is getting calls from 3 different debt collectors looking for his x-wife of 12 years. (It would be easy to find her since she is a realtor in Florida.) The most recent one today was from Allied. Any suggestions about how to get his name off their lists?

Unpaid balance reported as a loss by credit grantor

I received this call which was left on my voicemail at work today. The message was from a guy who has an Indian accent, he stated that I needed to call him, it was concerning my social security number. Right there was a red flag because people wouldn't call you about your ss # like that, would they? But anyway he called and left that message for me....the phone is 619-309-4469. I've gotten calls from these type of people off and on. The calls had stopped for about 3 or 4 months. Could anyone please advise me? Does anyone know anything about this number or people? First off I have pretty good credit. But I just noticed on my credit report (I monitor it) that Verizon Wireless put a ding on my CR negatively and turned it over to a CA. I am having a heck of a time getting a Pay to delete. My score dropped over 60 points over this. I live in texas and it was just reported to me CR on 8/9/2010. But the CA is saying they cannot remove it and because Verizon was the one who made the file with my CR. And verizon will not do a pay to delete. I have tried to talk to a Supervisor over this and I was told I will be called in 24-48 hours, HELP!

My checking account got closed by my credit union due to the fact I had too many payday loans. I have filed Chapter 13, what will happen, I still have some store front payday loans that will go through.

I was looking at my credit report from all three reporting agencies. I was denied credit (from a loan company) because of an outstanding debt on my credit report. TranUnion (the only one it was listed on) reported that I had an account from ARS and it had not been paid on for a year or more. I do not know of such a debt...I have never received anything from this company. My question is do collection agencies (which I'm assuming this is) have to show proof of a letter or some form of contact before they place a bad account on my credit report?

Hi Nelly, I am at the point of getting sued by Chase credit card, I wanted to ask you what is the worse come sanerio in the event that I lose in court (which I see no reason that I can win) in the NEW YORK CITY area, I owe about 33k and it dont look good! I tried to settle at 7k in lump payment which they did not agree to, they are at 40% of the bal which I cant come up with. I guess I need to know how long can they really go after me after they win the case against me before it all clears up.... best, Shachar

What is Arbirtration? I do not really understand what it is even after reading some posts. Can somesone explain it in a simple way???
