I lost my job. We are 5 months late on a credit card. So far this is the only one we have had to let go. Balance is 18K they are offering a settlement of $4500 over 3 payments which I think I can do. I want to settle but have ask them to remove the account from our credit report on completed payments. I went to the supervisor level with may request. My settlement expires in 3 days what should I do? Is asking to have the account removed unusual?

Got a call from Allen adkins sp? law firm claiming that they were going to file a lawsuit against me from a 409-356-5725 number in regards to an illegal pdl. they have been calling an leaving a number of 312-912-7186 which is apparently cash advanced ?something?. Are these guys legit? Should I be worried? I do not want to have a lawsuit against me.

My father recieved a phone call from someone, that identified themselves as calling from midland collections. The person stated that my father owed $____ on a citibank credit card, I dispute this, because my father is 86 yrs. old and he has never owned a credit card, the person also claimed that payments had been made until recently, the fact is, that I have been handling his financial affairs, so I know something don't sound right about this event.

One of these is Capital One. In late July, I received a letter from Global Credit & Collection Corp about my debt with Capital One. The letter makes it sound like they are trying to collect on BEHALF of Capital One, and the enclosed payment coupon seems to have a Capital One address on it. Okay I too can't get in touch with these people. I am going to report them to the better business bureau. They are threatening to charge me with writing bad checks because I closed my account. They deposited money in my account I didn't apply for the loan. I called them and told them to please take their money back. They recalled the loan. Then on payday they tried to debit my account but it was already closed. What can be done to put a stop to them just depositing money in peoples accounts.
