I notice that my previous question didn't get very many responses. Premiere Debt Solvers is new but not that new to where only two people give feedback. I figured that I joined this forum to get advice, yet it's either been slowly coming or not at all. So I've decided to chuck my debt settlement company and go about it alone. Does anyone have any advice on this? I'm up to date with all my creditors. How long do I get behind on my payments before I start the negotiation process? If I don't hear from anyone or just one person, I'll just close my account altogether on DCC.

Which is a better situation to negotiate: From your creditor whom you stop paying for 3-6 months or just wait for the original creditor to bring it to the CA. Also, is it possible not to set up a trust account... just an agreement to pay it for like one time payment but with reduce amount say .. only the 60% of the amount owed? or like 3 regular payments.. Also, I plan just to do it myself for me to learn how to do it and save some money. ThankS!

I have faxed and emailed all my pdl's the cease and desist letters....and have only received a couple responses. How long should I wait for a response? I faxed them last Sunday and followed up with emails the next day. I closed my checking account, and if they tried to do any ACH transactions..it would have been yesterday. Any advice on moving forward would be appreciated.

I bought a comp in about 2002 while in the Service, my Mom paid off the $800 bal. by a CC (which she doesn't have any longer). About 2 years later someone tried again to collect this dept but dropped it after Mom also informed them it had been paid. Now they- Asset Acceptance have filed a judgment in the amount of $4,306 with our County District Court. How can they do that without Me being notified so I could defend my position? And they have all my financial info because they told me they needed that to verify that I would be unable to pay this.

I recently received a collections letter regarding a debt which has exceeded the SOL for my state. I sent off a letter reminding them of this, certified/return receipt requested. I tracked the letter and found that they have not picked up the letter although a delivery attempt was made a week ago. What if they ignore the letter? What should I do now?
