In studying affirmative defenses, I'm kinda stuck with trying to figure out about statute of frauds. Some say that it doesn't really apply to credit card debt and should be left out of affirmative defenses.
What's everyone's thoughts about it?
got a call today from somebody with goldstein henderson and weiss.. saying her name was katy smith and she was with certified investigative assests and that I needed to contact her in regards to complaint filed againts me and that if i didnt call then the matter would be automatically turned over to the courts.. basically told me that case has been handed to her and gave me the fees and how much it would cost if i went to court
I live in TX and I took out a paydy loan online with a company called Quick Cash. I defaulted on the loan which was for $300 and was contacted by a California company with Houston callback number. They first told me they were a "local sheriff" then told me they were a law firm. They said they would contact my employer and arrest me at my job. They said they would file charges electronically and that my due amount was $4300 but they would accept $800 if I paid today or $500 this week and $500 next week. I asked for the name of the office this person worked for but they wouldn't give it to me.
I have a chase cc, i owe 5800.00 dollars, and i was put on ssd. i cant afford $197.00 payments, interest rate is 29%, if i pay the 197.00 only 20.00 goies toward the payoff. If i dont pay them at all, what would they do to me. Could they garish my check from ssd, or could they sue me for the ballance. What should i do?. EMAIL REMOVED PER TOS. thank you.
I have been threatened by Northstar that they will garnish my wages so I can't pay anyone else other than them and when I said that I would have to file bankruptcy they said in the time it take to file bankruptcy they would get all of their money, I have no experience with these issues, my credit was always great until my husband lost his job for 8 months and we are trying to pay things off now that he's back to work, they will not accept payments only a settlement or full payment..........can they do this stuff thay say they are going to do
