Okay so I was trying to get my small student loan in line (around $1400 and rising every day) so I can return to school as it is in default. So I contacted DCS the last collection agency that had it. They said to call the Iowa Student Aid Commission... the Iowa Student Aid Commission told me to call Iowa Student Loan Liquidy Corp. , so after calling the Iowa Student Loan Liquidy Corp. they told me to call NCO financial as the currently had the loan... I know this is alot of hand switching in under 2 years.

Over this past weekend I was out of town. When I came home I had 14 missed calls from this company. From what I can find they are not very nice people. I have a clean credit report with not a single ding on it. I had problems over 10 years ago but that is all cleared up. If something was left over from way back then wouldn't it show on my credit report? Some people have told me not to call them back or answer the phone when they call because that will start the Statute of Limitations all over again, but then again I don't think I have any bad debt? My states statute of limitations is 6 years.

Hi. My parents are currently over $70,000 in debt and I really need some advice. They cannot speak English very well (immigrants) so most of the time, they rely on me to translate. Now here comes the problem (besides the debt): while I was away in college, they entered a debt consolidation program with a legal agency. When I came home and found out what they had done, I read up on the agency on the internet. Results? Lots of complaints, F rating by BBB, and a fee of almost 20k. So I spent some time researching debt consolidation/settlements.

Can you ask for Motion to leave before the actual trial date. The ones taking me to court are a collection agency. I did not know how to answer my original summons. I want to see if the collection agency can document the debt or where they hoping to get a default judgement

Hi Everybody, My CC's are settled and I am now working on my Mortgage situation. Probably I will let the first foreclose in the next couple of months and since it is non-judicial they cannot get a deficiency. However, my HELOC has now charged off with Wells. I know I will have to settle it. However, I have no extra money to do that with until next March. I would appreciate opinions on how best to deal with WF HELOC Collections until then. I would like to avoid judicial proceedings.

I currently have very very low income. I'm a mom of 4 kids, renting a townhouse and my pay rate is 12 per hour. I made much more at previous job, however was laid off almost 19 months ago from there.
