Anybody had experience with them in debt consolidation? I'm trying to decide whether or not to go with them or do it myself. I would appreciate any advice anyone could give.

Can I consolidate federal and private loans into one sum? I have student loans from all over the place...

I have 4 payday loans out. I live in Texas. I was going to get with a debt consolidation co to take care of this but wasn't sure if that was the best way to go. I have read a few posts on here about these companies calling your job or references and I DO NOT want that to happen. Any info is greatly appreciated. I have an old credit card from 2001 - that was closed.... The balance was around 3000 and midland bought the debt from the CC company. Midland submitted paperwork for garnishment - back in 2008. Nothing ever showed up at my work until about a month ago. Any idea on how to avoid garnishment? I'm about to quit my job anyways due to school and not being able to put in time @ work. I'm contingent and I can't the required hours in. Any advice would be great. This is considered an individual debt - my husband was not listed on it at all.

I understand that I have a past due balance. I have no job so it is hard to make payments with money I do not have. Yet I still receive calls from ALLIED INTERSTATE! So tired of this hassle.

My wife got a call from a company called FMS who was collecting on an old Verizon bill! They said they were actually collecting for Palisades Collection. After my wife asked for a statement they had the creditor listed as Palisades and Verizon! Now I have to send two validation letters letters, one to each, as this bill is at least 5 years old and inflated. It must be that Palisades has so much work they have to farm it out or maybe they use others as a safety net! That way they can come back and try again with another company.

I put $9000 down on my Yukon 16 months ago. Due to unforseen circumstances I started running a month behind. They started calling me 10+ times a day, even started calling family & friends. I called them on Fiday to make a payment & the phone would just ring. Called at least a dozen times over the weekend Still no one answered. Monday I finally get someone & he told me they won't accept 1 payment they also wanted May's which just became due 5 days ago. I told him I could only make 1 as I am unemployed. He didn't care.

i thought i had the ACH's stopped with my bank (Wachovia) but they still were processed. I just called my bank, and they advised i contact the fraud department and discuss it with them - is this something anyone has done? I am so embarrased to even discuss this with anyone, but my account is withdrawn every week due to these PDL's taking money out.

Has anyone had success fighting these people (ACS) off?

with an address to send payments to and won't accept principle amount? Thanks
