does debt consolidation ruin your credit?

Citibank is sueing me for credit card debt. Can they touch my inheritance which is in mutual funds.

I am in the process now of closing my account with Chase. Then will be sending out all my letters to the "demons" at the end of the week.

I closed my account because of these internet payday loans. I'm in New York State. Is there anything these lenders can do to me legally? Is it considered a bad check?

I got my membership at Bally's but I never once used the facilities because I was waiting for my membership card which was never given to me. I attempted contacting the manager and they never called me back. Now I am being contacted by Asset Acceptance saying that I owe money due to this account. What does one do in a situation like this?

The amount borrowed was $300 plus the $90 fee. Through roll-overs and paydowns I paid them a total of $610.00. This Ms. Robinson indicated that I owe $410.

How long do a settled debt stay on your credit report?

I am at my wits end...I am working 2 fulltime partime jobs to pay a house note and car pymt, insurance,utilities, and a $20k student loan. I was a realtor for 5 years and am only 28 yrs of age..I owe $25k that does not include student loans of $20k..I am 6 mo late on cc..I may have to walk..what to do? thanks
