15 years 9 months ago
I have called my bank and asked them to stop all ACH withdrawls from my account. They refused to do so because even though the companies are illegal they still loaned me the money and they refuse to help till I send the Request to stop debitting letter. I looked on the website att eh letters and I am not sure which one to choose. I asked for the mailing address of one of the companies that loaned me money and tehy refuse to give it to me. They said that they operate out of Malta and that tehy do not abide by US Laws. What can i do now. The company name is yellowdale.com Help!!!

Family member was in Army, discharged, now Army has claimed that he owes them $4,000, since he does not live at our address we have been returning notices to DFAS. Collection Agency now claims the debt is $6,000 and is threatening to take his meager tax refund and garnish his wages. Can he file for bankruptcy to get rid of this?

Money Judgment

I have a money judgement in WI from 11 yrs ago. I was given wrong information a while back that after 6 yrs the SOL would be up. I now have just discovered after doing research (because I had a debt collector call) that it is 20 yrs and in WI they can renew once. Here are my questions, 1. I would like to pay this off and not have to deal with this anymore, but am leery of doing it with a debt collector. Should I wait for them to take me back to court before doing anything? 2. Do I try to settle it now and get a lawyer to help? 3.
