I want to thank you all for the information provided on this site. I too am feeling stupid for taking this route and feeling I would be paying double or triple the amount. Thanks to the comments provided I found the phone number and address of the correct complany and am able to pay back the balance without over paying. I feel extremely mad that there are such dishonest companies out there. Thanks again everyone for your stories and solutions.

Late last year, my bank account was closed and sent to collections. I was contacted by a collection agency, but when I sent a debt validation letter I never heard from them again! I have now been contacted by a collection agency for the exact amount my checking acount was in the hole when it was closed. While I know the debt is mine, I plan again to to send a debt validation letter to ensure that they are legally able to collect on this account.

Hi, I needed to ask if it was legal for a CA to write a letter say dated May 5th, in which the letter gives you five days to respond, BUT wait until the afternoon of the 10th to mail it, so that I receive it on the 11th? I have been paying them, talking with them. I have not shirked my debt. It was never my intention to. I paid off my cap one credit card years ago, it even showed on my credit report as paid off. 73 bucks in interest/late fees was left, that I had NO knowledge of. I would have paid it too! Three years later I get attacked by these guys with a bill of 1246.73!

how can i get any up to date info on this company? i have borrowed from them and i want to pay them back early, but i have no information on them.. t so when i called the bank the only they only had was the name of the company no number.. or any thing else. this is bad very! what can i do to get them out of my hair?

I am getting a ton of calls from these numbers. The voice mail never identifies who is calling. Does anyone know who this may be? I tried a reverse lookup with anywho, but no luck. Any help appreciated, and thanks!

We are scheduled to close on our home loan in 10 days but due to new law, we cannot close if we have ever 'disputed' any item on our credit report. We did dispute LVNV because we went to court and had the item dismissed by a judge because they could not provide proof of the debt they claimed. NOW FHA has forced us to call them and bed them to 'remove the dispute comment' from our credit report.

I received a call from this Greystone Alliance yesterday on my cell phone, not to mention that this is a Tracfone...I called the number back and they had a hard time figuring out who I was and why they had called me...I was finally connected to a gentleman and he asked me if I was whomever and I said yes and he asked me about my address and SSN and they were not mine...he said he didn't understand that things matched up but I was not this person...they then called my husband's mother and questioned her...she took the name of the company down but gave them no information...she is 86 years old..
