I was recently served with a Notice to Appear about a collection by Arrow Financial Services. Pretty much, my ex-girlfriend got a credit card and put me as an extra Card Holder (not a co-signer). Well, she purchased a boob job AFTER we split up and didn't pay the credit card. I was harassed for a while (pretty much 2 calls a day ever day) for about a year. Now that I got served, I got a lawyer to handle it for me. Well, seems my lawyer requested a copy of the original application to prove that I am responsible for the credit card.

Hi I live in Florida and back in Feb of this year I lost my mind and did the one thing I swore I would never do I got myself in a Payday loan twilight zone. As of this moment I am trying to close my account with Bank of America they will not allow me as I have a negative balance so as it stands there is a freeze on all transactions. Along with the ACH transactions there are all sorts of "shopping membership" charges which I assume are some third party add ons from these lovely websites.

I did this successfully once. I negotiated a pay for delete with a creditor on an old account, only around $160. At first they said no. Then, I informed them that they would move to the bottom of my list of creditors and receive a small monthly payment. Suddenly, they were ready to talk. But, I really struggled with getting them to put it in writing. It took about a week of back and forth, but they finally faxed me the signed agreement and I paid them. It is no longer on my credit. I am trying this again with a few medical bills with 2 different collectors.

I am trying to find out some information regarding this company. Their number is 866-300-0054 and they have called my parents telling them if I don't pay some debt that I don't even know about by today I will be served with papers tomorrow. Isn't this illegal to disclose such info to relatives?? They told them they could give them more info if my parents told them the last four digits of my SS#. Should I worry about this or what?:-?

I took out payday loans years ago and wasn't able to pay them all off. I missed one and now I'm in a world of trouble. A few months ago my mother-in-law got a call from LNKay saying that I was being sued and my drivers license was being suspended. They gave her a number to have me call them back. I called back but it said the number was disconnected. Fast forward to today. My mother-in-law calls me at 8:30am saying they called her again. They said that they were suing me and that I had 3 charges pending and would be taken to court and have my license suspended.

Does anyone have a template for a PIF request letter to a PDL company? I have sent the cease & desist letters to all of my PDL's but now they are offering me settlements (which are unacceptable because I overpaid them!). Thanks

i received a call from a law firm threatening prosecution for not paying a payday loan form 5 years ago. Well i havent used a payday loan svc since that time. I had a few of them and had some financial problems, and thought I paid them all back. Since that time, I have moved twice and have no idea where the copies of the money orders would be or if i had it taken out of my new bank acct. I think I remember paying all of them back. They say the judgment was made against me and they had been trying to contact me. well my email address and phone have been the same for over 10 years.

I am trying to rebuild credit after years of being married to someone who constantly drained me financially. Around the time of my divorce, I had surgery. Ex spouse performed one final act of drainage on the way out, leaving me unable to pay several med bills. So, I recently had a successful negotiation of pay for delete with one CA. Still have two others I am trying this with. I've had zero response from one, and a flat "no" from the other even though these are fairly substantial balances and I've offered full payment in exchange. Any suggestion on how to get them to agree?

Thanks to all on the board for all the assistance and inspiration! I have just settled my 1st of 6 credit cards and although happy, it's a bitter-sweet feeling in that I blame myself to a certain degree for getting in this mess.

I am in court today against a debt collector. I initially responded to the lawsuit with an answer denying the amount owed and asking for proof of all transactions. What defense or steps should I take in court today. Should I ask for proof of the debt in court today or what? Thank you all in advance !
