Hi, I need to know how I can solve my issue regarding my debt that is now in colletions, can I do payments or can I just paid half of the total debt and be forgiven the balance

Not sure where I can post this, but I have often come to this website for resources and I am in desperate help. I have many accounts that have gone to collections agencies, but I doubt that I have enough debt money to file bankruptcy and I don't even want to do that. It seems like every week I get a letter and a million phone calls a week and they even call my parents who I don't want called to know what is going on. Last year, I got into a big ol' mess with 10 different payday loans... I was spending so much money on the high fees that I couldn't afford my bills.

It has been a while since I have been on here! I have a friend who has fallen into the PDL trap and I remember how valuable this site was for me. We live in NC and she has 5 PDL's. The site has changed so much from when I was here I am not sure where to begin. I am trying to help her arrange to get her account closed and everything in order before they come to debit her account on the 30th.

i am getting calls from william sokol's office and the people are being very nasty saying they will garnish my wages and take me to court. are these calls for real, or what.

How can I get rid of many of my bills so I can start living again.

I got a phone call from West Asset Management. They pressured my wife intotelling them how much money we make and how much our car payments are. When I told them I could only afford to pay $5 a month she told me I didnt qualify for that payment plan. Then she told me "you can afford to pay it you just dont want to". When I offered her the $5 payments again she said "just get your credit card and pay your bills". Does this count as insulting language?

Read on here that I could go right to the pdls ach processor and have them stop debuting my account. I tried it and got nowhere. They stated they didn't have the authority to stop the transactions and told me to speak to the pdls. Also, my bank wants me to come in and call the pdls on a recorded line to see if THEY willACCEPT the ach revocation! If not they will continue to take money out and can also use the taped conversation against me in court.

OK, now I know that this forum is somehow connected with OVLG law firm BUT, the profile below is giving out advice on how to deal with payday loans that is NOT helpful to the original poster. I edited his first post because he suggested a consolidation loan, well excuse me if I am overstepping my bounds here - but there are BETTER options! Plus, he gave his emal address and website (which I edited because I was under the impression that we are here to offer advice, not advertise services).
