I am currently dealing with these people. They wanted me to give them a credit card or account number to set up payment plans for a PDl that I had taken out in 2008. But i didn't give it to them. I am trying to get an address to send them a DV letter. They say they will take me to court and possibly garnish my wages but I was under the impression that they couldn't granish my wages due to pa law. I live in PA. Anyway, the amount they are asking for is more them what i think I would owe.

I have been reading for the past couple of days and find myself in very similair situation as many people here. A few years ago we were a 2 income family with 4 children and decided to start a business. I could not attain a SBL but could get unsecuered credit from MBNA now BOA and Key bank to start my business. original debt 50,000. Lng story short, my wife became ill 6 months later and could no longer work, a loss of 50,000 plus in income. A 3 and half year battle with ss disabilty has left us in bad shape. Used all resources available to survive, but spinning wheels.

Made a lump sum settlement offer today and my cc said to call back in a week to see if it's been accepted? What is that about? At least they didn't say no right? Good thing?

I posted a msg on 3/8/10 about these loans I have and I need more info ASAP before my next payday 3/26/10.I went to my bank (Chase) and tried to close my accnt, change it to deposit only, or have the ACH blocks put on it and my bank officer and mgr told me they could not do that bc i had contracts with them.

this company withdrew funds from my checking account without my authorization and is not wanting to refund my money...

Hi all. Very cool and informative community here. I am close to entering a debt management program with a reputable "non profit" credit counseling outfit, as my debt has grown into the six figures and I am stretched pretty thin after making only minimum payments. I am still on time, but my debt is excessive. I have always had great credit, never late. But my score has been affected by the number of maxed out accounts with high balances. Given the circumstances my score is OK, at 719. If creditors begin noting "DMP" on my file, what does this really mean in the short term and long term?

I lost my job do to back problems and bipolar disorder,now I have to appear in court because of credit card debt.I live in MO. what can they do.

Ok, so I have basically closed my business and really have done much with it since 2008. I have liquidated a few items on ebay and stuff, but that is about it. I haven't paid payroll taxes on any of my business activities during 2007 and 2008. I just didn't have any money for it. I probably owe around $5,000. Who knows how bad it is now with penalties and stuff. My business is an S-Corp and I have really no money in it any more. All the assets that are worth anything have been sold. It is insolvent to say the least.

i see all of these 35% settlements on here but they are on like $50k+ debt. i have $20k and 3 out of the 5 are maybe $3k. does that hurt my chances to get a lower %?

Has anyone had any luck on settling on a Personal Loan? I have a $16k unsecured personal loan with Chase Bank.
