I had posted in the "Ameriloan: the truth" thread but see it is now gone. In March 2005 I had an internet PDL from Ameriloan for $250. Paid some, closed my account. Now, March 2010, they are calling me saying I owe $9,430 to pay it off - this includes, according to them, the original $250 loan plus fees of $75 per payday for $150/month for 61 months. They are willing to "settle" for $475 (original loan plus some other random fees, according to them) if I pay it asap.

I received a call from First National Collection Services. They said it was regarding my court hearing. I have not received one bit of prior notice regarding this. If it was something this serious wouldn't I have received something in the mail? I didn't think collection agencies could actually sue someone. I thought only the original company could (whoever you received the loan from). I have a call out to my attorney but I figured I would try to find out the answer in the meantime.

Have been with them since 2006, this past year I have been on minimum payments due to ill health. Went on 1/2 pay then no pay. Went back to work the end of October but didn't inform CCCS (my first normal pay was Dec) and I had found it so hard since my pay was cut.

what type of bankruptcy makes sense?

I just found this website and I currently have four payday loans and I desperately need help..Because my account keeps going into overdraft and I can not keep up my bills..I have a Wachovia Bank Account and I live in FL.

How is that US debt is the largest in the world. dont know why. any idea?

I filed chapter 7 and got discharged in Oct 2009. Just after that I had to buy a car to take me to work. We all know how hard it is to get an auto loan right after a bankruptcy, so I got a dealer financed car with very high rates. I was just wondering if it is possible for me to refinance my car at a lower rate now.

A collection agency has started calling me recently asking for payment on a credit card that was ran up by my ex-spouse. I was only an authorised user of the card that time and hadn't used it since we're separated. I had no idea that he had quite paying on the card. My question is, am I responsible for paying this account? If not, then what recourse can I take to stop this collector from harassing me?

I am trying to open an account with a bank. They are offering me an overdraft protection plan against some fees. I would admit that I was quite convinced by the way the bank representative had explained me about the benefits of carrying overdraft protection. However, since I hardly have any money left at the end of the month to waste, I just want to hear from you as well that carrying overdraft protection does worth. I don't want to spend money on something that I would not need.

Can you be issued of a 1099c form for a debt that is more than ten years old? I have recently received a 1099 c form through the registered mail. I'm not sure what to do about it. Would I earn tax liability for a debt that is more than a decade old?
