Hello, I have two acocunts with Chase owe about 24K and about 90 days behind. They offered me 14K settlement I said I can not pay. I offered 5500 over 3 months he says he can not do. Then he gave me the number for some credit consuling. Would they go any lower? Has any one worked with Chase? Thanks

I have just got a letter from zip19. I just wonder if theres any truthfulness to what they say since I live in KY. Heres what it says: Northway Financial is a financial institution licensed and regulated in accordance with the financial services directive of the European Union. As such, the laws of the Republic of Malta, not the state of KY, applies the loans terms. I thought my state laws trump theres since they are operating illegal in the state of KY. Could someone please help me with this and let me know which laws prevail. This community is a life saver. Thanks!

Got a call show up on the callerID for Allied Interstate (I googled the number). I'm still got 5 more accounts to go, but nothing has charged off. I'm thinking that someone has sent out their internal collections to them. Anyone have any experience with them?

Do the creditors run your credit report quite often? I am wondering if they only view your credit report at the time of forwarding you the loan or they run it time to time to see your performance with other creditors. If your report is viewed often, how does it affect your score?

I almost have an offer with a well-known information systems company, and I will be having that final interview soon. I've been searching for this job for more than a year and a half. And I wanted to know what the process is for credit checks. I've read the posts on this forum, and I'm not sure if a background check always includes a credit check? Last summer, I was struggling to make minimum payments on my credit cards when I graduated in May. I haven't found work since. Now that I actually have a shot at a job, that doesn't involve accounting or me handling money directly...

I am trying to hire a settlement firm to get out of debt but as you all know that there are many sham companies out there too. I just want to make sure that I hire a legitimate one. If I ask them to show their license plaque to me before I sign up with them, do they have to comply with it? Is there any law that requires debt settlement companies to reveal their licensing details to potential customers?

Anyone heard from these geniuses before? According to what I've been able to find about them online, they're Credit One Bank. I've only had two credit cards my whole life and neither of them were after with this group. (I had one from a company that I don't think is around anymore, the other from Capital One.) These guys call constantly, sometimes even three-four times a day from as early as 8:30 am to 9:00 pm right on the dot. I've never picked up because I don't recognize who they are and they've never left a message...ever. I don't plan on ever picking up either.

As many others in this forum, I am under tons of debt too. I can no longer continue making payments on these accounts and am almost decided to file bankruptcy. However, my concern is that I have purchased a new car recently on finance. I am wondering if I can include my auto loan into bankruptcy if I default on it and let the lender repossesses the car. Advices please!

Hi All, I have a Citibusiness card with a 17K balance, about to put another 5 grand on it to bail a friend out of jail and pay for my 16 month old daughter's headstone. (She passed a little over a year ago). Then, i want to try to settle this card for any reasonable offer. I don't even care if it is 60%, I have a nice tax refund coming, and just want to be done with this card.
