I'm enrolled in a program with Freedom Financial right now, but I'm nervous about it, as I've already been sued by a collection agency, all my debt has gone to collections, as i had lost 50% of my income. Are there any agencies that will work with debt already in collections? There doesn't seem to be a whole ot of positive feedback on Freedom.

I have a rather large purchase I made a while back that is quite private (medical related). When I pulled my credit report the charge was right there in bold for the whole world to see. I felt my privacy was totally violated! How long will this charge be visible? I don't want potential business partners or employers seeing this on my report.

I have a company called PMB Capital collecting on a payday loan I took out via the internet. I can't find too much information about them, but they say I "bounced" a check over state lines when the security code I gave them off of my prepaid debit card came back as "invalid". I gave the right information and I don't understand how that is the same as bouncing a check... Does anyone have any information on this agency or suggestions as to what I should do? They keep calling and sounding like they are going to pursue legal action and I can't find any information on them. Thanks!!!

I have 5 cards and I know there is no way I will be able to come up with 20% (or more) of all of them in 150 days. So should I stagger the last payment dates to prevent them all hitting a settlement at the same time??

We are saving, saving saving for settlements. We have just missed 5 credit card payments. We have a few thousand saved. However, I am going to open an account in my name so we can be ready to settle and just use that account. My question is when and if they pull credit can the creditors see the balance of your accounts? I don't want them to know how much we have saved. Also my name is on my children's savings accounts (one daughter is 18 now) will they see those accounts? I have only seen my husband's credit report and none of these accounts show up, but he isn't on any of these accounts.

Is it legal for a internet payday loan rep to threaten to come to your place of employment to collect a debt in Illinois? If not, what laws apply?

I keep reading posts about people sending in just a smidge of a payment to keep their account from charging off. Can someone explain the whole charge off thing to me? It seems some people will do anything to avoid it and then others say it gets them a lower settlement. I think I am not really understanding the pros and cons of the charge off. Also how to avoid it and what it really means.
