I just found out that I have some old student loans that haven't been paid. Seems they are with a collections agency. Any recommendations on reducing or eliminating these old defaults. Thanks

I am pretty freaked out. I took out a 200 dollar payday loan with Ace Cash and have not been able to pay. A Mr. Simon has been calling me non stop tellin me I have been warned...and that I have to notify him by 130 pm today. I have already asked, repeatedly, if I can set up a payment plan(I am in the state of TX), and have been told no. I do not have the 500+dollars that my account is now up front, but yet I can not set up a payment plan.

I settled a Sears debt last year through a debt program and received a 1099c this year from Resurgent Capital Services. Shouldn't the 1099c come from the original creditor (Sears) and not the collection agency (Resurgent Capital Services)? I never received a letter from Sears after paying, but it's listed as "Paid in settlement" on my credit report. Thanks
