I was recently summomed by "nathan and nathan p.c.",out of birmingham alabama(anyone heard of them? are they actual lawyers or debt collection center) for a debt owed to discover card that I am approx. 6/7mnths behind on. On the occasions I did speak to discover, I asked them to give me to the first of this year, when i would get my income tax back and could pay to get caught up. Other times they had called, asking for me and my 15yr old son answered(who has a deep voice).

We have accumulated approx. $60,000 in credit card debt from starting a business which has failed 5 years ago. We did not have any debt 7 years ago after we built our home. House was paid for. Husband decided he wanted to transition from tobacco farming to cattle. In our area there were grants available at that time offering 1/2 of your investment back. We researched these grants and talked to people that approved them and were told the best thing we could do was get the money then apply. It looked better. Yeah right. Did this three years in a row.

Hi, My husband and I are planning to file for chapter 7 bankruptcy and include our home and the second mortgage as well as all our credit card debt.We are not behind on our house payments or the second mortgage payments and are only filing to avoid being sued by credit card companies we are behind on.My husband has a child support garnishment on his check and I self employed and have lost a lot of income.Our home is in bad condition and needs repairs we simply can not afford and it's value is way less than what we owe so it seems like the best option for us to walk away from it.I am curious h

hi everyone, i am new here and i have question's, i need to file chapter 7, my income did not change but my living situation has changed and now i have to pay more living expenses. now here are the questions 1) i have a car with car payment's, i am current and what to keep it, is that possible? 2) my check is direct deposited should i get a paper check so the credit company can't w/d from my account? 3)i use my debt card to pay for everything, i know you have provide your bank statement, is there anything that i should not buy?

my ammex card balance was 12k with 3k due, then mimimum monthly of about about $350. Unfortunately i didn't pay them for three months and the account was sent over to United recovery service. I managed to pay them the 3000 due, and i'd like to go back to paying them minimum monthly payments, however American express wont take back the account as it has gone to the collection agency. My question is how to proceed from here, i haven't yet responded to the letter from URS and have ignored all phone calls from URS. What do i do? will this whole episode throw my credit score into the toilet?
