Hi I need some help with a Payday loan I foolishly took out last FEBRUARY with pdlloancenter.com for 300 dollars. I paid the entire loan off. During the time I was paying off the loan I received an email saying that PDL loan centers had become High Country Ventures. Then I received an email a week later saying they were PDL. But anyway, I paid of the loan and interest, and got an email stating that I paid it off. Then, This September PDL took $110 out of my checking account.

I have been reading all these forums and I have learned so much. My check is direct deposit into my checking account and these internet loans keep running payments through. I am having to pay all my fees before I can draw my check out. The fees are eating my checks up. I don't necessarily want to use my account or close it because I am hoping to be out of this mess in a couple of months with Income tax. I just want them to stop running all these payments through. Summit Group, Check n go, and Loan Point just keep running stuff through.

Has anyone been successful in negotiating a lower rate or NO interest rate repayment plan? I realize we incurred the debt so feel somewhat of an obligation to repay it but cannot do it at 29.9% per month. If a company was willing to negotiate a lower interest rate, I may be able to swing that instead of resorting to settlement or Chapter 13. Companies in question: Amex (husband----balance 30K) Amex (me-----balance 40K) Chase (balance-----15K) Sears/GE Money (balance------9K) Chase and my Amex are behind by two payments; husband's Amex by one; Sears still current.

We filed Ch. 7 at the beginning of the month. Our attorney JUST told us when we met last week that our checking account could be frozen because my husband has a credit card there that was listed on the bankruptcy. She said we should open a new checking account at another bank that is not a creditor. Aside from wishing I had known this BEFORE we filed (it would have been a lot smoother transition as far as paying bills goes.) Is it even possible to get a checking account after you have filed? We don't have any overdrafts or items in Chex System.

Evenin' folks - One of the many projects that's been simmering on the back burner for a while is a how-to for recording telephone calls. I've been meaning to do it for better than a year now. Well, after having to explain how to do it four times in a week, I broke down and wrote the damn thing. You can get a copy of the final draft, in .pdf format, from this link. My Chapter 7 bankruptcy will come off my credit report in a few months. What kind of improvement I can see in my credit score, which is currently 595, once the bankruptcy is officially gone? If more info is needed here are other items on my credit report: Mortgage & 3 credit cards in good standing. About 10 small medical bills in collections shown as negatives & a 2003 car repo. I plan to pay for delete on the med bills, one by one - hopefully as each one is removed that will help raise my score too although it may be 6-9 months before they are all gone.

I'd like to hear about recent settlement offers from Citicorp. I just settled 4 cards with Chase for 30%, but the best I can get from CITI is 40%. Haven't accepted 40% yet, I am holding out for 30%.

I emailed a copy of the C&D letter posted elsewhere in this forum to Oneclick cash. I enclosed a copy of the laws in the State Of Maine. Which states that any loan made outside of the state must abide with the the rules of the State Of Maine I also closed that account with Bank Of America and opened a new one with the same bank. They were extremely helpful and assured me that no ACH activities would be transferred to my new account.
