When they say the max is 10% of net income. Is that the amount all collection agencies can collect or is that the max each credit agency can collect.

Law office of Larry Roach

Anyone ever deal with this guy? I know from Bud Hibbs website they are bad news but I need some advice. At work today I saw a call coming in on my cell from an 800 no. - did not answer because did not recognize it. Next thing I know I get a call at work - for my husband who does not work here - from Laura at Larry Roach's office concerning an account of my husband's. She said it was a WAMU account we had not paid on - (Chase took over all the WAMU accounts so I thought it odd she said it was WAMU). She wanted me to pay something right now.

Loan Shop Online: Good News!

I sent the illegal lender letter to Loan Shop Online last week. Within 24 hours they marked my account PIF. Yesterday, I asked for a refund of the $1000 I overpaid. They offered $300 and I took it. The money was deposited into my account today! :)

My husband keeps on getting letters from these people. Every time we do the amount is different for the same company (Capital One) I pulled his credit report yesterday and they do not appear on the report as a collection and in a conversation that I had with my husband he's never owned a Capital One card. What can we do? P.S. I did notice that there were addresses on the report for places that we have never lived in. Could this be the mix up?

Wage Garnishment

Credit card companies threaten to take us to court. In Missouri they are able to garnish 25% of our wages for single and 10% for people with dependents. I pay child support and it is directly taken out of my pay check by child support enforcement. I voluntarily asked for this to be done due to record keeping. Is this money for child support considered a garnishment?

Can a debt collector view all of your credit report when they pull it? How about personal things like social security number and recent address?

This is on my credit report: Status Details: This account is scheduled to continue on record until May 2010. I am trying to figure out the month of last payment. Please tell me if that means I defaulted,in May 2003? Or does this date indicate that my last payment was December 2002? or, October 2003?
