I filed a Chapter 13 back in 1998 due to complications with my pregnancy and it was the only way to save our home. I paid the percentage of what they told me for 5 years. It was discharged in 2003. Now in 2009, due to this terrible economy I'm back filing a 7. It was the only thing left for us to do. So my attorney calls me yesterday and tells me that a trustee may give me a hard time since I filed before. Is that the case? I'm so stressed because I did everything to pay my creditors until I couldn't do it anymore.

Hi everyone I am going through some hard times these fast few years. I have an unsecured credit card debts that was sold to a CA whom had called me few times demanding payment. I explained to them that I have every good intention of paying of that debt and that currently my financial situation is so difficult that I was not even able to participate in college due to dufficulty of paying for school costs. I explained to them all that I can afford is paying $50-$100 per month.

I have been lurking in the forum forum for the past two to three months and I must say the amount of knowledge I have gained from this wonderful forums is huge. I have never expressed my thanks. But now I am going to express my thanks by giving you guys a great way to make money. With the effect of recession increasing day by day and not the other way around, making money is becoming tougher day by day. Still there are great ways to make money if you keep your eyes open. I'm being sued by a collection attorney who bought the debt from Capital One. The debt is past sol and the lawyer has committed many violations of the FDCPA. So I want to countersue. The lawyer filed the suit naming Capital One as the plaintiff. However, when I contacted Capital One, they told me the account was written-off and sold to a third party (the lawyer's firms) so they had nothing to do with it anymore.

My ex-husband consolidated his student loans shortly after we married in 1996. The consolidation was through Sallie Mae. We divorced in 2003. As far as I know, he still has the loan. My concern is that if he were to default, Sallie Mae would try to seek payment from me. The best that I can remember, I did NOT sign the consolidation loan but we did live in a community property state (Washington) at the time. None of the loans show up on my credit reports. My question is how do I know for sure that I'm not on the hook for his debt? I can't ask him to produce the paperwork.

:confused:After many calls to the Bank of America to adjust my interest rateon my credit card, I was offered a 0% interest rate for one year. I made a payment based on that over the phone; Only to be told a month later, that the person I talked to did not complete the paper work so I was reported late and charged about $1000.00 all together. They then requested another payment with no documentaion to initiate that program. I went to my bank to get the payments reversed. Their employee failed to submit the paper work.

in the past i have used payday loans here an there responsibly, always paying them back way before it got to the 4 renew times. i dont know how i got to this point, but i kept having to take out more to cover my regular bills and then now its the point where i cant cover the interest charges for the loans, much less my bills. i am not in default on any of them as of yet and am thinking about closing my bank account on monday and transferring my direct deposit into another bank account i have (seperate bank).

What happens if the collection agency does validate the debt? Can I settle with them? Does anybody have a good letter to settle after debt validation? Finally, what I am looking for when a company validates a debt? Thanks in advance for your responses!!!
