I have an email address that I use for customers to reply to my exhibit spaces sales biz. Today I got one that said "Past Due!" as the subject. There was an attachment that had xxxxxxx as my name and account number and an amount owed as 373.17. With a note "will settle for that amount." Then following was a long letter about possible wage garnishment and judgment and all kinds of crap. Then there was a URL to follow to make payment. Do they actually get people to fall for that? It did not even have my name on it or a creditor!

My wife has 2 credit cards in her name only with balances of about $12,000 each which were incurred via cash advances last year when we needed cash to keep up on our mortgage payments until we did a refi. We cannot pay these full balance and are now going into default on them with the expectation to negotiate a lower payoff. My name and SS# are not on the account. She is ok with having her credit score go down hill so that we can negotiate a lower payoff with these companies to reduce our liability with them and payoff the debt.

I have over paid the Loan Shop in the $780.00. I stopped my ACH withdraws for them..My loan was $390.00. I paid a total amount of $1,170.00. They are hounding me to pay back the $390.00. I just want to make sure that when I contact them I am within my rights that they are ilegal in CA Thanks

I currently have a pdl out with gecc. The amount of the original loan was $400. According to my records they have taken out payments on 7/16/09,7/30/09,8/13/09,8/27/09 and 9/10/09 in the amount of 106.00. To my knowledg that adds up to 530.00 well above what the original loan amount even was. My question is is there anything i can legally do? Can i put a stop payment on them through my bank without going to court or anything. I really need some advice here i am so frustrated that i even let myself get caught up in this whole payday loan loop.

What happens after a bank is served a judgment from the local Sheriff? Sheriff served the bank 3 weeks ago and no word from the bank on what they are doing. Do I have to do anything else to make sure the account gets frozen and will they send me a check for the judgment amount?

I'm currenty in th process of filing bankrupcty and I'm including my payday loans. I keep getting calls from these lenders and they have my attorney's information. They keep calling me and telling me until I get the case number from my attorney they will basically keep harassing me. Aren't they breaking the law? I would like to know what I can do to keep them from calling me at work and home? This is getting frustrating. Also, can a collection agency that deals withe PDL's try to garnish my wages? Has anyone dealt with PDM collection agency? These people are unbelievable..
