We go Friday morning at 9:30 to sign and file. Its been the LONGEST 3 years of my life. Major lessons were learned from all of this. I hope to NEVER see a PDL or credit card again as long as I live, and I do mean that. SICK of owing people money. IMHO, nothing is worth my freedom from debt. I thank EVERYONE here on the board for your advise, support and allowing me to vent, cry, laugh, whatever the emotion was at that given moment. I hope now I can move on and hopefully some day be a debt samaritan to others who come here for help. Thanks again, Reny

I have a Bank of America (FIA Card Services) debt. It was past due for 6 months so they assigned this to Creditors Interchange and they have called me for that. Unknowingly may be because of law suit fear I started paying money for these guys and I made 2 payments as of date. Meanwhile I inquired with BOA about CI and they said BOA still owns the debt but CI is legally eligible to collect the debt. My main concern now is 1. Should I request a validation letter from CI now?

What happens if you cant pay anymore!?! I got fired today and my next payment is due on Friday. Should I close my account? There isnt enough money in it to cover any of the payments due.

I'm sending my 1st dispute letter to ChexSystems. It's easier for me to Fed Ex the letter instead of going to the Post Office to certify it. Does it matter if it is sent by Fed Ex or USPS?

My neighbor lady is a retired widow in poor health and tells me she really does not appreciate these calls. I have friends who tell me it is actually illegal for them to be violating my privacy in this way. I did not provide the creditors with her number, nor do I appreciate them bothering her or any one else with my business. I have also been told it may be possible to sue them for this practice.

Hi I need some advice :( I have 2 payday loans. One is with cashnetusa and the other from paydayone. I lost my job and was not able to pay the payments. Afraid they were going to debit my account with no money in it, I closed it. That was 3 weeks ago. Now I am getting calls from a law firm. And numberous calls all day long from them.

So I got an unsolicited settlement offer from a company called Mitchell N. Kay, P.C. Law Offices. They are willing to settle my debt of about $6,600 for $1,700. It seems way to good to be true. This is what the letter says: Dear: Please be advised this office in concurrence with the creditor, American Express, agrees to accept the amount of $1700.00 in settlement of the above referenced account. This settlement is conditional upon payment being received on or before August 28, 2009. 11 am As agreed. Kindly make your personal check via telephone service payable to the creditor.

Can anyone tell me if there are any banks in NM that I could open a new account with if I close my old (20+ year-old) account? I'm in PDL Hell and need to close my account but am pretty sure I've been on the chex system. All my overdrafts, NSFs and such are all paid, just probably been reported. This is an awesome site. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

does anyone know if United States Credit Agency based out of Murrieta Ca is legal or not I live in MN
