Hi, is it possible to consolidate PDL loans before defaulting?

i just deleted about 18 of the stupid posts--hope someone can keep an eye out--will have to leave in a second!..karen

I have about $5,000 in Payday Loans. I would be able to payback the $5,000 plus reasonable fees but the $1,500 payments twice a month without reducing the principal is just crushing. These are all internet loans. I live in NJ.

If pdl's are illegal or not licsenced in most states are we obligated to pay them back anything at all?

I live in WA state and recieved a summons from a collection agency regarding a medical bill. I only have 10 days left to respond and all I can figure out is that I need to send something called a "notice to Defend".... I cant afford an atty and have no idea what to do now. Where can I find a Notice to Defend? Is there some kind of form letter somewhere? This sucks! All help is GREATLY appreciated!

I have 2 collections reporting on TU from RJM Acq Llc. They both state who the original creditor is but there is no tradeline from the original creditors. I remember doing business with the OCs, but it has been several years ago. I am thinking at least 5 years or more. My problem is that on the collections listed there is no DOLA. I truly believe these are probably past the SOL. How should I deal with this? Should I just dispute with CRA that these accts are past SOL and should be removed even though I am not 100% sure or should I dispute that no DOLA is reported and they need to add it?

I need advice on paying a credit card with capital one that is reported as a “charge off”. First of all, I have secured employment and will be financially able to pay off some of my credit card debt so I have begun to look into how to go about this. The first step was to see my free credit report, then I started researching the pro/cons of paying off a “charge off.” I AM SO CONFUSED as to what I should do despite having read so much info on this! 1. Capital one charge off, is being reported every month (Nov 2008, Dec 2008, Jan-Jul 2009).

I have stopped paying my big creditors (BoA and Chase = total of 30k) for 3 months and waiting for settlement. However, I have citicard that has only 2k and Amex 3k that is still outstanding with good interest rate of which i can afford to pay. My question is, should i include also the two since im in the process of settlement or no? My rationale is that, at least theres only 2 settled account in my credit and i was hoping that i can still maintain my credit card with the 2 companies and hoping that they are not going to close them.
