Does anyone know a good FDCPA Attorney that practices in Missouri. I know of Larry P Smith and Krohn and Moss. Anyone know of any others?

So I sent a debt validation to Atlantic - John P Frye and sent back some list of name, amount, last pmt is all! Also after I had sent it they called me at my work and cell a few times and I kept saying I had sent it but they kept calling! Meanwhile, I researched and discovered they are not even licensed in AZ. So my question is: Technically I could just send another demand because of the b.s. validation they sent, but they are also not even licensed here. And didn't they break the act by continuing to call after they new a letter was coming? What should I do next? Thanks for your time

If the original creditor posts that your old credit card account is to drop off June 2010, why would the debt buyer report that the first time the account was delinquent was December 2003? If the first delinquency was December 2003, then the account would not drop off until December 2010, right?

I missed my pretrial conference, can I still contact the lawyer and try and work out a payment plan, or is it to late?

I just got a letter from Allied Interstate stating my account with Capital One was placed to their office for collection and I owe $1172.00. I just went online and my account was listed as 1 payment past due, but I then checked my Quicken files and I have made payments every month. I will be calling Capital One tomorrow but this seems very confusing. My first question is how am I a month behind? I know this months payment went to them after the due date but it has been received and credited.

So are they 'legitimate' or not?

I live in Ky and having a hard time paying my credit card bills. I am worried that if I fall behind I will be sued or they will take my home. I only draw ssi and disability social security.

I have a credit card with a balance of $5800.00. The interest rate is 29.99%. Minimum payment is around $156.00/month. I called the credit card company to negotiate a lower interest rate. Because my payments are always on time, they offered me a fixed rate of 6% for 5 years with a FIXED PAYMENT of $115 per month. I am so confused. I'm thinking it's a great offer but on the other hand, I'm stuck with a $115 payment that won't go down as I pay for the next five years. Can someone help me out on this one? I need to give them an answer within the week before I lose the offer. Thanks!
