If I settle a cc myself, what will it show for that account on my credit report? What do the cc companies usually show on your report?

I am an authorized user on my new husband's credit card. (We got married 4 weeks ago) A JDB might want to sue me, for a very old debt. Can the JDB find me, by checking my credit report, and seeing I am an authorized user? Can they sue my new husband? They say I owe 14,000.

I received a call from Superior Asset Management last week about a water bill that fell through the cracks and was sent to collections by the county. The rude collector called me and asked if I was aware, as they were updating credit and wanted to make sure I knew about it. I asked her if it was reported to credit yet and she said yes, I told her I didn't want to deal with it now, she got mad and said it would ruin my credit and they were going to do an employment verification on me. I pulled my credit today and I do not see they have reported anything as of yet.

I sent a letter to my legal store front PDL's that I would set up a payment arrangement with them. I put what I could pay and when and asked that they mail me a statement of some sort. Well I get a voice mail today from Express Check Advance (they are a storefront and CFSA certified) saying I needed to call them today (needless to say I didn't get a chance) because they "will be forced to get the ball rolling on furhter action tomorrow" I haven't been able to make a payment yet, because I have had some medical problems. at 25, I have a long and complicated medical history.

I have been offered a settlement over the phone by two different Origianl Creditors. Both creditors were hesitant to put this in writing which I found strange. They insisted on payment over the phone by a check and wells fargo said something about a token payment first in order for them to agree to settle. They insisted that I have a checking account and that i had to pay by a check over the phone. Do I have to get something in writing, or can I trust the origianl creditor? Why are they insisting on payment over the phone and should I pay the initial good faith payment? Thanks

Hi guys, I wanted to know if it was possible to file for bankruptcy without the aid of an attorney? For obvious reasons we can't afford to hire one. Would it be possible to use a legal document service like the one that advertises on tv? Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks in advance!!

With 7 PDLs, all willing to work with me in paying off loans outside of agreed contract -- all except CHECKMATE! Rude and inconsiderate of courtesy contact and monthly payment offer of $132.50 to satisfy $700 + $95 fee loan! Accts Service rep or mgr even went as far as threatening lawsuit and accusing me of committing fraud. Nonetheless - I expected this type of poor service from CHECKMATE from reading other forum articles. I informed acct service rep that payments would be made in hopes of his company's acceptance and w/o being returned. Never deal with them again!

The companies are: CashNetUSA ($300) MyPayDayLoan.com ($600) East Side Lenders ($1000) I have every intention of paying these off, but I can't have them keep taking the money out of my bank account.
