Last week I asked about a law firm serving as a collection agency. They had requested info on our cars from the department of licensing. I had not previously been contacted by this firm. Well, on June 2 I received a dunning letter dated 27 May, to which I plan on responding. Today, I received a knock on my door and this guy verified who I was and handed me a summons.

Has anyone ever been sued by chase for credit cards...will they garnish your wages?

I have lived in the UK from 2002-04. I have about 8000 pounds in debt. I was unable to pay it back and have not made a payment since 04. I finally get a call today from a debt collections company from California asking me to confirm my Social and date of birth of which I said you have the wrong person. My main concern is can this affect my US credit report? I understand my UK credit is bad but I am worried about my credit here. Can someone help with this?

My lawyer is officially filing Ch. 13 at midnight tonight (100% repayment). She is faxing over the automatic stay to each of my numerous pay day loans first thing in the morning. All are legal except for Pay Day Max and My Cash Now. I cannot close my account for work purposes - it is impossible and discussing the situation with them is equally as impossible as this is a second chance account and getting another account locally is virtually impossible. What do I do if they try to debit my account?

I have 2 one 4 $500w interest of 110 and another 4 $50. With 120 in interest. My problem is i have just taken a $330 pay reduction due to GM bankruptcy. Can i make payments to settle the balance of both or do i have to pay everything at once? one for one for 5

i received a letter from this company at the end of december 2008, i sent a debt validation letter and in january i received a letter back stating that they were in the process of obtaining the information and that once they had the verification information it would be sent to me, and all collection action would stop until that time.....this was a debt for a credit card with orchard bank that was then passed on to some cpopompany called arrowhead financial and then on to daniels & norelli...well needless to say...it is now june and i still have not recieved validation of the debt...

Hi Sorry - originally posted this under wrong topic! I know that a judgement cannot garnish wages in SC but what happens when your company only allows for direct deposit? My wages have to hit a bank account before we can withdraw and do MO to pay out expenses. Am I screwed all the way around? I don't have any assets except a car. BTW, what are the non-bankruptcy exemptions for judgement? Car value, money in account? Help!! :shock:

Hi everyone. Well, I have called every number of every agency that's supposed to help consumers in my state (Maryland) and gotten nowhere so I'm hoping someone at this forum can help me. Long story short - I am behind on my mortgage. I received a Notice of Intent to Foreclose from CitiMortgage on April 20th. It stated that my last payment was on 3/13 and was applied to the month of February.
