Is there any legall recourse one can take to deal with payday lenders who don't have a license in your home state..being oregon has a cap limit on payday lender both internet and storefront lenders are to abide with. Yed im in this payday loan trap as well , trying to shut down my account. Emerald is one of them and this guy is trying my very patients. Not only do i want them out of hair...I know there's more that can be down to regulate thei crooks. Im only sorry i didn't take time to look into the matter before I leap...family needed to eat and have shelter..then wife lost job.

So I have closed my account, and faxed/ emailed my letters. PDL Loan Center (High Country, RBT, Loan MGT Services) So far I have recieved a phoen call from PDL Loan Center saying that they will take the remaining principal on my account but they have to have it within 3-5 days and it needs to be through a card or ACH (what? any legitimate business has a mailing address for payments) Small step..but not good enough.

I have just recieved a call from a Mr. Rice who is with Brady and Coruso. He was a total JERK. He was trying to insist that I had an oustanding bill with a company that I have never herd of. He gave me the last four numbers of the persons SS number and I told him that it was not the same as mine. He said he would research and get back to me. The next day he called and told me that I was a joke and I needed to pay this debt.

Has anyone been able to get a good settlement from Citibank? I owe them just under $14,000. Has anyone had good luck and if so...how? thanks, Julie

I have three accounts with B of A and am going through Halo debt co. ( I have been with them three months) to help me handle paying these people off well, B of A wants to settle all three accounts in four payments which total 4,300 a payment if I had that kind of cash I would have paid the people in the first place! No one told me to start saving because you will have to have three large amounts to pay off your largest card or I would have tried to do so. I feel lost and don't know what to do.

I am with Halo debt co. and am worried after reading all these posts. I pay them each month but how am I going to pay off a 15,000 cc on my own I thought the money I gave Halo would show the cc companys I was serious about paying them and that I would be able to make payments once a deal was made~I did not know they would want over 2,000 i four payments if I had that kind of money I would have paid these people myself. How am I ever going to get out from under a credit card this large? help!? ali
