I need a cease and desist letter that my elderly mother can send my car finance people. I am behind in my payments and I am dealing with it but they call her 4 times a week. I only listed her as a reference not as a co-signer. I have seen the C & D letters here for collection agencies for ones own debt but none for harassment of friends/family. Any help and/or a generic letter would be appreciated. Thanks

Has anyone here defaulted on a Dell Preferred Account frim Citi? I recently spoke with a CA about this account, and they told me that the account was secured by the purchases and that if I did not make an arrangement with them I would have to surrender the computer equipment that was charged on the account. I really do not have too much of a problem with this, as the systems were all purchased several years ago and are so old they are almost useless. BUT, I only have one laptop left that is barely functioning.

Most of my collectors are threatening to sue me now. I make $29k a year and I am past due to MANY creditors in the total amount of $19,000. I cannot get a loan becuase I do not have a home and I dont own my car. My credit score is shot and there is no way I can make these creditors happy or get them do drop the amounts owed becuase I have no lump sum to give them. I can afford $500 a month but if there is no loan I can get and not way to talk these creditors down what do I do? I hate the thought of paying a company $2000 just to call these places for me to get the total cost down. I lost!

My wife's student loans have been bought out by a new company and a payment arrangement has been reached between her and the new company. The old company has since then taken our taxes as payment even though they don't have the rights to the loan anymore. Can they do that leagaly?

i had a loan thru cash adv now which is illegal lin my state. i borrowed 970 from them and paid 1300. i sent my letters out with no response from the company. today i get a phone call from jerry garcia from capital collections stating that he is gonna call my references and my work. i stated he cannot do that and i want documentation that they are legal to collect in the state of wash. he stated he's a lawyer not a collection agency. i told him if that were true i would have received an official letter in the mail.

I can't find that they are licensed in state of Texas or that they are CSO's? Eastside I guess is licensed in DE but NOT texas so I'm thinking all illegal? Guy at BoA offers around 40% settlement and never calls back with approval notice or sends fax of agreement like he claims he would do the next day. Eventually (two days later), I call the guy and ask what happened. He explains that he needs an additional amount of around $1000 on one (1) card to get it approved. Is this just an attempt to increase the guy's commission or is this legit orders from the higher ups at BoA on the mimimum amount that will accepted?
